while we're at it - put the appetizer option back in too. I'd much rather have an appetizer than desert (most of the time)

You can tell the desserts are the lesser cost to Disney as otherwise there's no reason not to allow you the choice of an appetizer or dessert. If you have a table of 4, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to get 2 apps and 2 desserts to share leveraging the dining plan.

But anyway, I still think the buffets are 2 credits come the next release of the DDP.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.

I think the school of thought on that is that 2 apps and 2 desserts means that you're occupying a table for an extra 15-30 minutes, thereby cutting into table turnaround time, restaurant profits, and tip potential.

Nine times out of ten, I too would prefer an app over a dessert; especially when you already get a dessert with lunch and a snack credit daily.

Desserts are much cheaper to produce...

Hey Gang, I am headed down to The World on someone else's dime in November and staying at AoA. Most of you know that I am DVC Member, but I have never used the DDP. It is included in our package (1TS 1QS and ! snack). Can someone offer some advise on the best way to use it? I believe the person paying has us booked at a TS everyday. I know we have a brunch at CM's and a Backyard BBQ booked for certain.

I could advise you if it were 2007, but DDP is a suckers bet now.

An increase seems odd when there is a much better signature options or even non signature at the same locations.
Tusker house vs Tiffins
Chef mickey vs california grill
Akershus vs lots of other Epcot restaurants

But I guess it's not always about food quality.

Should we expect to see a reduction in attendance at the character dining or an increase in people trying to book signature when they think why the hell not of I'm using two credits...

As I said, it is someone else's dime, so humor me.

Make sure you ONLY order the cheapest thing on the menu. And constantly talk all through the meal about how you can't believe how low the price of this meal was on the menu.

I think it was a hint to 2017 as the website looks like it has a minor update and also the 2017 dining has disappeared (it had mostly N/A)

The best wzy to use it is in the fact that you dont have to think or worry about thecost especially since its someone elses dime. A lot more sit back and enjoy

Hmm a "glitch" could mean a lot of things. A "glitch" as in they accidentally put it on before it was supposed to be put on there or a "glitch" as someone put the wrong number in?

I'm going with the former as most large websites are managed with content management systems and changes are 'pre-staged' and this one may have been someone putting the date in in military style ie day and month reversed i.e. Military 12 - 6 - 2016 or Twelve June 2016 instead of December 6, 2016 so the web pages showed up ahead of time as we've seen similar changes in the past 'before their time' so to speak.

If you want to get the most value out of the DDP then remember that each QS credit is worth around $18 and table service around $40 then snack $5.
Flame Tree BBQ does a smoked meat sampler for $20 that's a good use of a QS credit for example.
Unless you don't think you will get through all the snacks, avoid using them for bottles of Coke etc and instead save them for ice cream sundaes or topped fries.
