Not entirely correct, although they may have been made from the same figure both operated at the same time. So unless he was really fast, there had to be 2 of them.

Still totally confused - can anyone explain ?

Each attraction has/had a buffalo in one of the scenes. The buffalo was made from the same AA frame although they are not the same buffalo as each attraction was running at the same time.

Wait, wasn't the buffalo in Living With the Land made for Western River Expedition? That's the story I heard.
