Trip Report Buffalo, Bugs, and Beer - A lostpro9het Surf 'n' Turf report.

Alright, alright, alright let’s get this beast going! As pointed out in the PTR, this trip had some purpose to it and I wont rehash the reasons why here. I will say that we had an amazing time saying goodbye with some great surprises along the way. With that, lets go!

Saturday May 11th
We got up bright and early at 04:00 and were pulling away by 04:30. This seems to be the only time one can navigate through Atlanta without hitting traffic, sadly the same cannot be said for Henry County’s traffic. Anyway, our go-to pit stop is always Tifton where we fueled up and grabbed some breakfast at Starbucks, we skipped ChikFilA for some reason. About an hour later and we passed the boarder.

All was going swimmingly until around the time we hit Gainesville. Then it was tick….tick…tick..tick. The swarm made its first appearance. The windshield started to look like a Jackson Pollock painting that could not be undone with wipers and fluid. I swear, lovebugs bleed quick dry contact adhesive, more on this later. Soon we were hitting the turnpike and then 429 to Western Way. We made right for home.

Well I'm from the north, but lived in the south for enough years to know that there is bad pecan pie, and good pecan pie... and I like it when it's good.
Correcto!
And I will keep my opinion to myself.

While we’re on the subject, I’m gonna set the record straight. It’s PEE-CAN, not PUH-KAHN.
O..M..G.. YESSS!
What??? Almost too much to comprehend with only one cup of coffee so far this morning.
(But I guess I should be like @lostpro9het and respect your opinion as well).
Its too hard to fathom, right?

Monday May 13th, cont.

To close out this evening we had plans for Evolution. We made a pit stop in our room before heading there and noticed our stateroom host, Nicky, had for better towel animal skills than Tri did a year ago.

The convenient thing about aft rooms on the Dream and Fantasy is you are so close to the entertainment district for adults. This meant we had a short walk to Evolution where #tonyfromspain was warming the crowd up for tonight's entertainment.

He went into what was planned for us this week before introducing tonight's entertainment. We learned that Shawn Farquhar would be on board again with us this week. He is a two time world champion magician and when we saw him on a previous cruise he completely wowed the DW. I was concerned we were going to get the exact same routine as the previous cruise but he brought a new routine that was just as good. He is an exceptional entertainer.

After his performance we stuck around for Silent Disco. If you've never heard of Silent Disco its pretty awesome. Everyone is given headsets with three channels on it. Each channel is playing a different blend of music that the DJ is streaming. You can bounce between channels as much as you want. Now, the whole room is silent because all the sound is funneled to the headsets and this is where it gets more fun. Every now an then you pop your headset off and hear some of the most tone deaf Beyonce wannabes give it their best...hilarious. I may even have video from someone in our stateroom giving it her all...I'm taking bids.

Even fuller disclosure, I cant sing or dance to save my life but I love acting a fool on the dance floor for this, so much fun.

We ended up dancing and "singing" til around midnight before we made our way back to our room for the night. Great start to the trip!

Tuesday May 14th, Nassau.

for some reason I can't shake my early mornings even when on vacation. I was up around 6 and was pleasantly surprised to see the beautiful morning awaiting. The remains of about a million lovebugs littered our veranda so we decided to forego breakfast on the veranda. Still, it was a beautiful day.

We went up to the main deck and claimed some chairs by the adult pool and I went to grab some breakfast and coffee

We pretty much spent the first few hours of the day here, poolside. Most folks were disembarking for Nassau but we planned on hanging on the ship til after lunch.
