Buena Vista Street and Cars Land: Happy First Birthday

Exactly one year ago today (not counting seconds, minutes and hours), Buena Vista Street and Cars Land opened at California Adventure. Both Buena Vista Street and Cars Land were announced way back in 2007 as part of a major expansion for California Adventure. Although many things were announced for DCA's expansion, including a tweak in the name, a new entrance, etc., Buena Vista Street and Cars Land arguably were the two additions that would make the biggest impact on DCA's change and attendance. Buena Vista Street and Cars Land have proven to be hits for guests and hopefully they will continue to make guests happy. Happy Birthday, BVS and Cars Land!

On a side note, World of Color turned three four days ago on June 11th! World of Color has been another popular offering for DCA guests. Happy belated Birthday, World of Color!

Both of these attractions are what sparked my interest in visiting DLC, and dropping the cash to do so.

Hopefully Disney learns, because as things stand, I don't think I'll be doing WDW again after this August trip. Though, Disney may see my money in other places...it won't be WDW...

Perhaps a "Happy REbirthday" would be a more appropriate wish for this reborn park. It's truly magical in the best Disney tradition. Now if only WDW would catch up (I'm located a lot closer to THAT park, hence it's a bit more familiar and important to me...)

I remember reading all the project threads on MiceAge about this and Carsland and therefore I was so excited I just had to visit Disneyland and DCA for the very first time last August. Loved it.

The theming is amazing. It's such a nice place to stay Aaaaah have to come back asap.

WDW meanwhile for its part gets limited merchandise offerings for anniversaries. That draw three hour long lines too. Ah well, the old mantra about each audience getting the park it deserves and all that.

Ah yes...i was there during the Pre-opening Annual Passholder preview last year. I was in town for a few days and decided to pop on over to DL and made the mistake of going to DCA that afternoon.
The place was packed! I am not a passholder, so i was not able to see anything.

I missed the Grand Re-opening by two days if i remember right....i was back home when the big event took place. Yeah...bad timing...!

I enjoyed seeing all the great photos during that time...we had/have a awesome thread right in this section of the Forum that is chock full of goodness.

I am returning to DL in September, and i am definately looking forward to experiencing both CL and BVS in person. Very much looking forward to it !

I actually blew off my annual September visit to WDW and decided to re-visit DL instead this year for two main reasons, one of which was experiencing these neat new additions.

Happy Birthday! I'm glad I visited last November, which was unplanned, but I had a good time!
