I never rode it as CA Screamin but it is a completely different ride track than RNR CoasterIt's OK. We don't have to agree on this. I've just always felt the experience was very similar. Just like I enjoyed it more as California Screamin, and it sounds like maybe you didn't. That's fine too.
I loved the theme of an actual test track but 2.0 ruined it. Agreed that RS is better overall but the ride system is the same which isn't super exciting to me bc I've been riding Test Track for the last 20+ years.Test Track stinks. It is and always was so bland. It’s not even a Must Do for our family.
Radiator Springs has so much going for it and is so well done. I’d argue that while TT is more thrilling bc it does go faster, the story, setting, and characters of RSR are amazing.
Honestly, I'd love a whole Cars land at WDW, but seems like DL got that and WDW got Toy Story. Which is fine. I know a lot of people dislike Toy Story Land, but my kiddo loved it. For the record, though, I'd pretty much love a land based on most Pixar movies. Give me a WALL-E ride or an Inside Out ride in Epcot, and I'd be a happy camper.I loved the theme of an actual test track but 2.0 ruined it. Am I the only one that wasn't super impressed with RS Racers? I only rode it once and it was adorable and the scenery was cool but wasn't it basically Test Track with a different theme?
Yet another case of agree to disagree. I think they're exactly the same type of coaster, and as such don't belong in the same park with each other. You don't feel the same way, as is your right.
I know it is the same ride system, but I'm not convinced that it is the same track layout. If it is it is a much better use of space then TT ever thought of being in either incarnation. Sorry that it doesn't work for you because it seems like every attraction is based on story and visuals. That's what Disney is all about. But, if it doesn't, it just doesn't work for you.Yeah, that's what I figured. I appreciate the differences and obviously RS wins with the scenery and props but that wasn't enough to make me fall in love with it. I used to love Test Track (version 1) but with the addition of so many great attractions at WDW, and the 2.0 makeover, it's not a favorite anymore. The actual ride (which is the same as RS) is not that exciting anymore. Adding a different story and visuals doesn't change that for me.
I enjoyed a lot more DL/DCA attractions than RS. It had been hyped up so much (I didn't know at the time it was the same system/track) and I was a bit let down to basically get on Test Track again.
It's a great attraction! I totally see what you're saying. My comment was more about how the sensation of the ride itself wasn't new bc it's recycled.I know it is the same ride system, but I'm not convinced that it is the same track layout. I guess then we would all have to ask ourselves how we love omnimovers so much. There was a time there when all there was were omnimover rides. All the same sensation, all the same speed and only differentiated by a different story. But, again like I said, there is no law that says you have to like any particular ride system, but just say you don't like it and be done with it. In my mind what you are claiming just doesn't make any sense when it comes to Disney attractions. When talking about comparing TT with RS there are two completely different visual experiences that really are dependent on the vehicle our butts are parked in. It helps with the illusion, but isn't absolutely necessary to imagine the story. It is germane to either story, having to do with automotive themes, but that is all it is used for. Those vehicles are as related to being a car in the same way that the ride vehicles in Little Mermaid are related to being sea shells and the ones in the Haunted Mansion are Doom Buggies. All in the mind of the beholder. Everyone's mileage may vary. It's a great attraction! I totally see what you're saying. I'm not going to DCA under any circumstances and Disneyland being the mecca for Disney would draw people even if it were nothing but wind up clocks. Carsland should be available to everyone, not just to those living on the big fault line, just like Small World, Pirates, Haunted Mansion and so many others that are shared with just about every Disney park. It is that impressive and the ability to experience it should not dependent on where one happens to live.I actually think RSR should stay a Disneyland exclusive, otherwise why would you even go to DCA? (Coming from someone who only went to DCA once and it was before Carsland opened)
So by that logic, every impressive attraction needs to be cloned?I'm not going to DCA under any circumstances and Disneyland being the mecca for Disney would draw people even if it were nothing but wind up clocks. I'm not "claiming" anything - I'm telling my experience. I didn't dislike RS - I was disappointed.I guess then we would all have to ask ourselves how we love omnimovers so much. I'm so bummed I didn't get to fully experience the Monsters Inc dark ride! I've only been to DCA once and it was down for most of the day. It was finally open so we went on and it broke down half way through. The lights came on and cast members escorted us out of the vehicles and through the entire attraction out. It was one of the weirdest things that's happened to me in a Disney park lol.Honestly I want the Monsters Inc. Dark Ride to move over to WDW. But with very advanced animatronics instead of the still-life ones. I’d move it to Hollywood Studios and replace Star Wars Launch Bay.
The area already has “animation” in its title so it works good.
That's exactly why they built it there. To get people to go... Plus we do already have TT which is vastly different thematically but the same type of ride system.I'm not going to DCA under any circumstances...
