Breaking News from Epcot - Thousands ride M:S yesterday and experience no problems

As much as I hate the sensationalist, biased media, and it appears I am not alone in this view, I can't help wondering why everybody blames the media for being this way?

The media report on subjects and in such a way that sells. If the general public did not create demand, the media would not provide. Unfortunately while people continue to buy newspapers and watch TV channels that broadcast in such a way, the media will continue to behave as they do.

You are exactly right SteveUK. Everything in this world is based on Ratings, Approval, Fame, and the all-mighty dollar. The news reports what will draw the most viewers. I wish it weren't that way, but the general public seems fascinated at death, injury, and watching big corporations get damaged or fall.

The title of this thread is so stupid. M:S couldnt pull in a thousand visitors even if it was the only ride at epcot  . Extremly lame attraction, hopefully they will replace it.

Uh, the thread title is fine.

Mission: Space runs over 1500 people through it an hour.

I gotta ask... Is this forum any better than the media?
I ask because currently, 3 of the 5 active threads in News and Rumors concerns injuries or deaths in either a serious of sarcastic nature. Why can't you just leave these things alone?

The time I spend on here get's less and less simply because I come here to find out what's new or rumored to be new at Disney and most of what I read is continued rubish about the media and how unfair Disney is treated.

It's tragic when someone dies. It's tragic when the media makes it a headline. It's also tragic that such a onetime great site is now a mosh pit of sarcasm towards injuries and death.

This kind of stuff is severly detrimental to the happiness associated with all things Disney. It's as equally damaging to the Magic as CNN is... Can we talk about Monorail Expansion? At least that's encouraging...

Good point brich, and I apologize for my frequent responses as this is something I usually wouldn't do for that very reason.

To show my support, I won't be responding to these threads again.

To quote a song: " we need dirty laundry" "Kick them when there up and kick them when there down"

Some people live on the fate of others, they want nothing more than to put a bad name on everything. I try not to watch the news because they focus on 95% bad things. just like they never mention what good things they are doing in iraq like fixing schools and bringing utilities to towns. NO NO they are only dropping bombs on innocent people all day long! Im sorry people get injured and sometimes pass away on rides. It happens! And when your park is visited more times than any other place in the world the statistics go up.

I'm calling --

COVER-UP

After further investigation, 3, yes 3, barf bags were missing from Mission:Space as well. 2 bags were missing from orange and 1 from green. This further confirms that even though changes have been made, both forms of the ride are too dangerous and should be either scrapped, or riders should just watch the short video and exit the attraction. That is all.

I just did. They said they had more important things to cover. Apparently someone got a papercut while picking up a map in the Mission: Space giftshop this morning. They were airlifted to the hospital. Reports are coming in that the giftshop was shutdown for an investigation, though it should reopen very soon, as the victim had an undiagnosed condition for penetrable skin.

Oh the horror. I don't know about you, but I'm still going to Mission: Space Giftshop Orange the next time I visit.

God no! Not a paper cut!

We already know about this, there are three threads about it.

Sorry about that! My intention was not to "break" the story. I simply wondered if the local paper has someone sitting at the end of the ride, just waiting for these situations.

Heading for the great escape.
As long as you dont break the ride or it you:dazzle:

I have heard MS is being held responsible for an out break of RSI amongst Disney discussion board users.

I don't know, but last weekend all the barf bags were removed from green! AHH!!! Also...I hear rnRC had no problems today, although one family confessed to riding after lunch, but they only felt queezy.

Thanks Peter, I needed that laugh!
