Breakfast Opinions Needed

Wanting to try new places for breakfast. We have dined at:
Cinderella's Royal Table @ MK
Bomas @ AK
Whispering Canyon Cafe @ WL

We are thinking about:

Chef Mickey's @ The Contemporary
Ohanas @ the Poly

Any comments or suggestions about the two locations listed above. OR some place that I have missed. It will either be a party of 3 (me, my Dad & my teenager) OR a party of 9 (the original 3 plus another family w/ 4 kids).
b/t/w - we are staying at CBR.

Is the $$ worth it? Is the food good? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated!!!!!!! :sohappy:

We really enjoy Chef Mickey's. There is a wide variety of foods, all you care to eat (buffet style) and its a Character meal. We feel its worth the money and its our second favorite breakfast option...right after the all you care to eat skillet at the Whispering Canyon Cafe in the WL.

We haven't had breakfast at 'Ohana, but the Kona Kafe in the Polynesian is excellent. Can you say Tonga Toast? :slurp:

Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary is absolutely worth it. The food is very good and the atmosphere is fun for all ages in your party.
We have also heard good reviwes of the Princess Storybook Breakfast at Norway in Epcot, and since DD is a Princesses fan we are trying that one on our next trip in December.

Enjoy.

I think you are on the right track! We've been to the Character breakfast at Chef Mickeys a couple of times and it was great! From reviews that I have read, I believe we're going to try O'hanas next. :)

Oops, sorry for all the typos in the original post.

Looks like we are leaning towards Chef Mickey's.

Anyone else?

Oh, it doesn't necessarily have to be a character breakfast - just
something good & fun.

Thanks for the responses I have received so far!!

Can I throw in 1900 Park Fare as a suggestion?

This character breakfast is somewhat more subdued and has more face characters but it has, in my opinion, the best quality and selection of food of all the choices. The buffet offers much more variety and the presentation is beautiful. Just my two cents!!

We are going to try the Trails End Buffet at Fort Wilderness on our next trip. I have read good reviews, but haven't experienced it yet.

Anyone else tried Trails End?

Lauriebar - have not thought about 1900 Park Fare - will throw that into the mix.

TigsMom - Already printed out the menus. All look the same. It's breakfast, not to easy to ruin that. I'm just trying to decide which one to go to.
Decisions, decisions - heck we can't even figure out where we want to eat at for the Candlelight Processional Package (I think it's down to Nine Dragons or Morocco - we've at a few of the others already - Mexico was my favorite).

Boma has the zebra domes (at dinner)

Breakfast at Boma is awesome, it's buffet style with the usual stuff (eggs, bacon, biscuits) but you also get to try some of the bushman's breakfast AND its all service with a kick-butt fruit drink.

1900 park fare is ok. the last 2 times we did the breakfast there, the characters stayed in the back and refused to come into the front area. the manager had to drag them in there literally. they left a 2 year old crying that pooh didn't like him. needless to say now we go to chef mickey's! fun atmosphere great food. best way to spend your money.

Tonga Toast is at the Kona Kafe in the Poly. Its banana stuffed french toast, very yummy and apt to induce a carb coma.

Tonga Toast

Ingredients:

2 or 4 slices sourdough bread, cut 1 to 1 1/2 inches thick
1 banana
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
oil or shortening for frying
whipped butter and/or syrup

Method:

Cut a 1-inch pocket in one side of each bread slice. Cut banana in half crosswise, then split each piece lengthwise. Remove peel and stuff two pieces of fruit in each pocket of bread; set aside. Mix sugar and cinnamon; set aside. Mix together well the egg, milk and vanilla.

Heat about 4 inches of oil in a pan to 350º F. Dip stuffed bread into egg/milk mixture and let it soak a few seconds to let penetrate bread. Fry bread on both sides in hot oil until lightly browned, about 3 minutes. Drain on paper towels or wire rack. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and serve.
