I made an ADR at 'Ohana for 10:50 for the day we arrive back from our cruise. Will it be possible to make this? I should also say that we're staying at POR.
Do you have a set pickup time and if so, what is it?I will be using Disney transfers.
No I don't. This will be my first cruise so I'm not real sure about the whole pickup process. I thought I had read tha they have shuttle vans that can get you back to the resorts faster.Do you have a set pickup time and if so, what is it?
Thank you! That's the same route I was planning to take to get to Poly so I'm glad you confirmed that is the correct way to go.You will want to skip the pre-assigned breakfast and be out of your room, with your own bags in hand, by 8am. Just walk off the ship, go through customs, and get on a bus back to the Resort (assuming you've purchased transfers).
This will allow you to beat the crowds off the ship, since the first group will be eating breakfast. Don't put your bags outside the room the night before - just keep them and take them off yourself. This will save time.
We did this in March and made it back in time for a late-morning meal. I forget the exact time. You'll need to check in quickly at POR, stow your bags with Bell Services, bus to the MK and monorail or boat over to the Poly.
It's going to be tight and you're going to be tired, but it's possible as long as you get up and get off the ship EARLY.
I would prefer that but 'Ohana doesn't do lunch. We chose a lunch ADR on disembarkation day instead of breakfast, just incase the process is slow and disney transportation can be slow at times to, because you will need to bus to magic kingdom and then monorail to the poly..
I was thinking about that. I'd rather not have to pay for a taxi but if it comes to that I'd rather pay for the taxi than miss my ADR and pay the fee!Depending on how your time is running if its getting tight after you check-in at your resort you *can* shave off some transit time to the Poly by grabbing a taxi from your resort. Shouldn't be too crazy expensive since it's not going clear across the property.
Exactly. More motivation to get off the ship as early as possible. We usually target 7:30 to be ready to roll in the atrium with all our stuff. The gangway typically opens around 7:45 (that's been our experience). I think the buffet opens at 7-ish so if you need a quick something have your bags ready, run to the buffet at opening, scarf down a biscuit, go get your bags, and get down to the atrium.I was thinking about that. That's what we did, thanks to your previous postings. We loved it. We drove our own transportation and was checked into AKL by 9:00 a.m.Exactly. Your postings helped us a lot with our first cruise. Thanks!![]()
That is a good idea. I don't think I can make it to 10:50 without eating!Exactly. More motivation to get off the ship as early as possible.
