Brazilian Tour Groups

Well, I don't know if it would work, but you could make a petition or something and send to some of the big brazilian travel agencies. The biggest ones are CVC and Stella Barros, but there are tons of others.

Ah, the Brazilian tour groups...

They do know how to have a good time that's for sure, but usually at the expense of other guests.

I've seen them sleeping on benches and paths in the middle of the day.
I've seen them block the entrance of FastPass entrances waiting for their time to show up.
I've heard the loud chanting.
I've seen them lock arms and skip down paths with no regard to other guests or traffic flow.
I've seen them leave trash everywhere.
...and I've seen them disobey CMs, instruction signs, and the rules.

They can be seen during any major break from school such as summer and winter breaks.

The main problem is that the majority of them do not know English. Now, I don't expect everyone who visits WDW to know English. I wouldn't expect myself to know any other language when I visit another country, but that's why CMs have a hard time enforcing them. They usually have a hard time understanding "Hello, how are you?" let alone "Please do not block the entrance to the FastPass line."

Another interesting fact I've learned from a friend. I guess in Brazil as many other countries, they do not flush waste paper down the toilets. They tend to throw it in a trash bin or on the floor.

That all being said. I'm am somewhat glad these group come each year because they do make up a good portion of WDW visitors. They do have a good time which is what vacation is for.

We must have really good luck when it comes to the tour groups. We didn't see that many, and the ones we did see were pretty well behaved. We arrived home last night from 6 great days at WDW. We stayed at the WL. Honestly, the tour groups did not bother us at all. We saw them at every park, but the majority of them seemed to be at MK. They were not loud, didn't run/knock us over, or block the paths. In fact, a group of young Brazilian girls were smiling and blowing kisses at my 4 year old son while in line for BTMRR. We smiled back, and they all said "He's so cute!" (In English; I don't speak Portugese) But I also purposely avoided Fantasmic! this trip as to not have to deal with the singing/chanting that I've heard they do while waiting for the show to start. If I hadn't read the horror stories on the web about them, I wouldn't even have realized those were the same tour groups people had complained about.

Don't go to WDW in July.
Don't do it.

:fork:

Amen to that - same principle with the other (fringe of WDW, as I dub it to this day) Central Florida theme parks! Muetti, some relatives from Seattle, and I were visiting Busch Gardens Tampa Bay (virtually part of the fringe of WDW) for two consecutive days on one weekend. That occurred in July, when I predicted large groups of Brazilian teens, usually reveling their quinceaneras. My predictions came true, and Brazilian tour groups are not the only anomalies - there are also those from Argentina (that's right - Argentina) as well, and they seem to outnumber those Brazilians.

The numeracy of the BTGs (and ATGs) is the reason why I have a Seasonal Pass.

I've had to register on this site just to comment on this thread!

I've just returned from a month in Orlando, doing the usual - WDW, US, SeaWorld etc., and the Brazilian tour groups really, REALLY got on my wick. On one of the days we just turned and left EPCOT when we saw about 10 flags coming towards us.

Not all of the groups were bad, there were the occasional ones (which I noticed mostly had older adults with them) which were well behaved and polite, but the majority I came across showed exactly the same behaviours stated here - pushing into the lines, shouting, screaming etc. I was incredibly annoyed to see 5 tour leaders take up all of the FastPass machines at Soarin' as soon as the park opened, with about 30 tickets each in their hand.

I think Disney and all of the other parks need to make it clear to these groups of the behaviours expected of them, and that the CM's enforce the rules appropriately - TO EVERYONE. It seemed all a bit too easy to ignore the big groups that were blatently just pushing to the front of the queues, and diving under the FastPass lanes without a word said. Bah.

I try not to generalize about groups of people. I have been to WDW more than 75 times. I have had only one day-ruining encounter with another guest, and that was a Brazilian! We were on the parade route at MK and had been staked out for quite some time. I got a cell phone call from a relative at home, and I stepped away from my group about 6 inches and put my head down to hear. When I looked up, not 1 but 2 Brazilian girls had squeezed into my spot. They seemed to not understand when I spoke to them in English, riiiiggght, so and there was some yelling involved. My group finally squeezed them out, but my temper was going by that time, and it was hard to get back into a Disney magical mood by the time the parade came by!

On my senior trip back in 09 i had experienced these BGT. One incident was some freinds and i were in line for haunted mansion (my fave ride) and a few of these people in this BGT group cut in front of us. Another time a friend was not feeling good and had to sit down. On the bus there were a few of these BGT kids and none moved though it was obvious my friend did not look good. But this kind lady got up and gave him her spot. Don't worry he was fine the next day.
My issue is that the chaperons no matter what school, sport or other extra circular activity group need to lay down ground rules. Let the kids know that certain behaviors are not to be tolerated (line cutting, shoving, Screaming swearing, things that not appropriate for WDW). I remember for my senior trip the teachers had a meeting as soon as we got to the hotel explaining the ground rules, curfew and things like that. I think because these kids think they are away from Mom and dad they can do what they want. But what makes it worse is when the chaperons don't do anything about the kids behavior.

This has always been something that annoyed me about Disney. They need to tell make and ENFORCE the ground rules with these groups:

1.No cutting in line.
2.No chanting.
3.No running through the park.
4.No screaming in your hotel, especially after 10:00PM.

I can't stand those groups. There was one at Fantasmic in July. They wouldn't stop chanting and singing Brazilian songs for a straight hour. Guess what - Not all of us care to hear the national anthem of Brazil. Sit down and shut up.

Thing is, I'm 100% certain they know we can't stand them. It just instigates them to act as annoying as possible.

I was there in July and have witnessed the Fantasmic chants... BRUTAL!
