Hey everyone! I talked to Disney Dining Reservations today when I called up to make my reservations for my New Year's Eve. trip, and found out some great new news!!! Many of the resturant were previously taken off of the Disney Dining Plan (many of the restaurants in Downtown Disney and Epcot), but as of today when I called up the Disney Dining specialist I got on the phone informed me that many of the Epcot and Downtown Disney restaurants that were taken off the Dining Plan are now back on!!! This is awesome news! I got to make my reservations for Wolfgang Puck's Cafe, Teppanyaki Dining Room, Nine Dragons Restaurant, and the San Angel Inn! I don't know about anyone else, but I am so glad they put these restaurants back on the Disney Dining Plan it just wasn't the same without them! :sohappy: I am so excited even more about my vacation now!

I had seen that on allears.net! I am so excited about this!
But I have heard that Teppanyaki will be going down for an extensive rehab from mid Jan to mid May. Does anybody know if this is correct?

2007 Dining Plan Updates!

The current dining plan let you eat almost anywhere, but a lot of the Epcot and Downtown Disney restaurants were taken off of the dining plan for 2007; however, when I made my reservations today Disney Dining informed me that the restaurants that were taken off were in fact now back on! This is great news for everyone who loves all the Epcot and Downtown Disney restaurants. :sohappy:

I caught that from allears as well. I immediately called up Disney Dining and made a reservation for Alfredo's at Epcot - Italy. The agent sounded surprised that the restaurant was back on the list of participating restauarnts on the DDP. Let's hope they don't change their mind again...

I downloaded the Disney Dining Brochure off the Disney World website, and it looks like most of the locations are back. I assume they hadn't finalized all the details before having to publish the information for 2007 bookings.

The locations that had initially not been included where paticipants, I presume that they were waiting for them to sign on again for the dining plan.

Last year I ate at Teppanyaki on the free dining plan and my gf and i's meal came to $125... this year we ate there and it was $95... they took the lobster dishes off the menu, as well as made the sushi dishes not part of the dining plan selections... very smart decision considering I couldn't believe it last year when we ate there for that much... and it could have been more...

I had the shrimp and new york strip. 9/10
the show was alright as far as excitement, but very funny. No fire effects, my guess was that it was against code. 7/10
Total, 17/20 for me. I would eat there again anytime.

We are planning on going to Teppanyaki in December when we go... Is it good? How about the "show"?

I love Teppanyaki and go there on all my visits. But, I love Japanese food and would eat it everyday if given the choice:D.

The *show* is all right. Nothing to different from any other Japanese steakhouse where they cook on the table in front of you:wave:

So...I have to ask...Am I the only one on this forum that doesn't use the Disney Dining Plan on trips? I have noticed that often times the plan limits your selection of restaurants, foods and numbers of meals. Maybe it is just me, but I don't like to be limited in my opportunities to indulge in Disney-Meal-Goodness at the parks. What fun would Epcot be without its diverse restaurants? :lookaroun

As far as the restaurants, JPVonDrake had answered that on another thread. The 2007 list of par restaurants had NOT been finalized!!! So Disney released what they had and will continue to add into it as new participants are signed onto the plan.
And JediMaster, no you arent alone. I have done both the MYW Dining plan and the DDE card. As I prefer sit down meals, the DDE card generally suits my eating style better, but the MYW Dining plan is still an AMAZING Deal!!!! For an almost cash free vacation it really is the Cat's meow!!!! Belle
