bottled water?

I brought empty (reusable) water bottles from home and used the individual crystal light packages to hide the taste.. Saved our $$ and taste buds..

Hi this past oct. we even took in bottles of pop and water. stayed in mod. resort w/ a frig. and drove so we broght it w/ us. drank the pop first and saved the water for later if they got a little warm does not matter as much. No one questioned us through the gates at all.

That's what we plan on doing this trip. The lemonade ones are really pretty good.

Also, I read somewhere that a neat idea to keep your water bottles cooler longer is to put it in a tube sock. It keeps it insulated a bit and also the condensation from the bottle doesn't mess up anything else in your bag.

Heading for the great escape.
If your going to all that effort why not just buy a camel back bag. Fill it up and leave the bladder in the fridge or stick ice in as you leave for the parks, make sure you get one with an insulated drink tube though.

Another tip for water in your room.

The first trip I could NOT stomach the water even to take a pill at night.
Melted ice tastes much better than the stuff from the tap.

Surprisingly in South Florida where I'm from, the well/ city water is always good. Of course when I go to Palm Beach County, the water is chlorinated and disgusting. :hurl: We have to get big tanks of water because it is undrinkable. I guess that the bad water from Palm Beach County goes North to the Disney resorts and such. OR, Disney could make the water bad so you buy the water bottles! :p :ROFLOL:What an ingenious plan!

Not sure if someone posted this but we also bring in the small powdered packets of crystal light and kool aid. Never had a problem.

The water in the ice machines is filtered....fill your ice bucket at night and let the ice melt. The water from the melted ice is very drinkable. It doesn't help you in the parks but at least you can start/end your day with water that doesn't taste gross :hurl:

The bottled water is not expensive at WDW. Its like $2.60 for the large 20oz (maybe even bigger?) bottles. By theme park standards thats a deal.

The "Bad Taste" in the water you guys are referring to is part sulfer, and part mineral/metal deposits from the old piping they have in the WDW parks. Some resorts have better water than others, like I know in the value resorts, Pop Century has better tasting water than the All Star resorts, probably cause of newer pipes. But honestly if you are dying of thirst and want something to drink, is a little metallic aftertaste THAT big of a problem? I never take water bottles, I either drink directly from a fountain or purchase a bottle of water and refill it at the nearest water fountain and then toss it later in the day.

But to each his/her own, you do what you feel comfortable with, some people are afraid of public water fountains cause they are worried about germs and such.
