Both IOA and Universal Studios in one day?

I'm heading to Universal Studios in August and was wondering if it was possible to do both parks in one day with an Unlimited Express Pass? It will be just me and my wife. Only have two days to play with so was thinking of doing US/IOA one day and maybe Sea World the other day. Thanks.

Firstly I'd say Seaworld would not fill a whole day so you may have a few spare hours to re-visit either Uni or IOA but generally I would say Uni and IOA can be done in one day but as I said revisit the ext day if you feel the need.

I've only split about 5-6 hours between the parks on a slow day, but for us, that was enough to experience everything we wanted to. If you had a full day you'd be able to do more, and the Express Pass should help mitigate crowds. We showed up just before lunch time, started in US and did ET, Simpsons, Men in Black, Disaster, Mummy and Twister. We walked to IOA and did Spiderman, Jurassic Park and Forbidden Journey. Spent some time walking around and soaking in HP, but other than that we pretty much went ride to ride.

It really depends on if you plan to skip some of most of the more lengthy shows and attractions like T2:3D, Horror Make Up, Shrek, Disaster, Sinbad, Poseidon, Beetlejuice, Animal Actors, Fear Factor....
Even with express Simpsons can take 20 minutes for the 2 pre shows and the actual ride.
It's possible when it's not busy if you skip so of the the longer experiences I mentioned but also depending on when in August and if your willing to use single riders on FJ.

You can do it just fine. I do it every year in May and Oct with NO express pass. I skip... Horror Make Up, Shrek, Barney, Sinbad, Poseidon, Beetlejuice, Animal Actors, & Fear Factor. But I do EVERYTHING else.

Thanks everyone for the help. We've decided to just go ahead and do two days at Universal. This will be our first trip so we're excited.

Just did a day at both parks on Sunday. When I lived in Orlando it certainly wasn't an issue, but now I don't get to be there as often and really wanted to do EVERYTHING so we picked up the 1x-through Express passes. Even with them we didn't do everything we wanted to do with a 12:00-9:30pm day in the parks. We didn't see any shows, missed a couple rides (Cat, Dragons, Simpsons, etc.), didn't have dinner in the park, and had to wait stand-by for Rockit, Despicable Me, and Potter (though we were able to walk onto that via SRL twice as well). Two days is definitely recommended.

Last January I took a trip with 2 other people and we did both parks in one day. However this was in January and I could imagine had it been during a much busier season you would indeed need 2 days. We had debated 2 days but they day off from parks was much more valuable to us than the 2 day at Universal.
