Booking two resorts??

I know you can split your trip between different resorts, but how is this done? Can you do it yourself when booking online and how? I am trying to book 2-3 days at Port Orleans and 2-3 days at either AKL, WL or Poly. I want to run through it online so I can get an idea of the price before I book.
I would check prices on line but call in the reservation

Yes, I would also recommend you call to make the actual reservation. You could likely check the room only prices online for each resort and then look at ticket prices separately to get an idea of your overall cost. Depending on time of year, you may come out cheaper booking the room only through Disney, then buy your tickets separately from undercover tourist.

We have done split stays a couple of times and loved it, but 2 days at each resort is not a lot of time to settle in at either place. It may not be a big deal to you, particularly if you don't have kids in tow, but I've always felt 3 days is about the minimum I'd want to stay in each resort to make the hassle of packing up mid-trip worth it.

Split stays can be done on your own. Or you can use a TA, which is a free service. If I were you, I'd call the TA.

Split stays are pain in the butt, IMO. I did a couple and did not enjoy it at all.

We have done it both online and through a AAA travel agent. We always do split stays. Doing so again this summer. You can price it out online or call to make the reservation, either way, the price is the same.

I understand the concept of split stays but when I land at my home away from home :D - I unpack and put everything away being I'm there for a week. The thought of having to pack up again and move to another resort after 3 days exhausts me LOL That is time I could be spending doing other FUN stuff at my favorite place in the World!!:p

thanks for the responses......also I should ask we are driving to the world so it should be no problem moving the car from one resort to another right? Would you recommend that I take my bags with me then to check in at the new resort?

You will have no problem moving the car! It's up to you how you want to handle the luggage move. I worry about everything so I'd take my own luggage, but I hear Disney does an excellent job of doing so.

If you have your own car, and will be parked near your room, then you can definitely move the luggage yourself yourself. Bell services will gladly move it for you, but it may not get to the new hotel til later afternoon. You still need to pack it all up and either get it to bell services, or ask them to come pick it up while you are still in the room. Something to think about, if you are changing resorts, you would either need to keep the luggage in your car in the parking lot all day, or get to the second hotel, check in, and either leave it will bell services (likely early in the AM) or put it in your new room if its ready. Your parking pass from the first hotel will let you park at the parks that day until you get a new one, but it's totally your call.

We have had good experiences using bell services to move our luggage, but others have reported delays. I'd say if you're going to be in the parks all day and don't need your stuff until later in the evening, you should be fine having them move it for you. We just packed everything up in our room and called bell services to tell them we were moving. When we got to the new resort later that evening it was waiting for us!

I agree call the reservation line directly and book that way. Ultimately what it will come down to is booking 2 seperate reservations for each resort. At least that is what we ended up having to do. Was very easy though!
