Booking through RCI?

I have booked through RCI and stayed at SSR in May. You can use Magical Express although we rented a car so we didn't need it but the option is there. I'm not sure about room requests. We went during a slow week and checked in at 8:00 am and got a room right away in Congress Park section. It was awesome.

Also interested in the RCI process. We're hoping to trade HGVC points through RCI for July 10-17. We already have an "ongoing search" in the RCI system, but our dates are fixed and we need Saturday-Saturday (wedding the day before, cruise the day after). What are my chances at getting the trade, considering I've been in the ongoing search for a month already (13 months in advance, total)? I'm open to ANY of the DVC resorts but, like I said, the dates aren't flexible.
Lastly, will I be able to purchase the DDP?

I also have ongoing search with RCI but my dates are flexible. You may consider a Fri-Fri or a Sun-Sun search just to expand your options. Although you'd only be able to use 6 nights instead of 7, it might still be worth it just to secure a DVC property. I don't think you can do DDP because you aren't actually booking through Disney.

Yes you can use ME, room request contact Disney after you get confirm # from RCI. Also you will need to contact Disney for ME anyways. RCI should give you all the contact info you will need.
As for the third post you have given your self the best chance by trying so early. The problem is you are dealing with RCI and the can be a real pain. Plus there service is not the greatest, you might want to call them once a week to double check your search so they do not forgot about you.

You may be able to add the DDP. You'd have to talk to Member Services after you secure a reservation. When you rent points through a DVC member, they can add the DDP and you then pay when you check in. I presume a trade in from RCI works the same way.
As for getting a trade, even DVC members who own points at a particular resort can't book rooms until 11 months before their trip. So I doubt that anything is available yet for RCI trades until that 11 month period, and perhaps not even until the 7-month period where DVC owners can book at resorts that *aren't* their home resort.

I've been watching the RCI availability for awhile now and it seems that they are releasing dates a little farther out slowly. Several weeks back they were only offering through April & May. Now they are starting to offer some June. Keep your eyes out. I bet that you will start to see some July dates coming soon.
