I just got off the phone with DVC member services and guess what! DVC members can borrow two use years in advance! My use year isn't until June, but I was still able to borrow from the June 2014 use year to book a 5 night stay at SSR! Not my first (or second or third) choice, but at least I'll be in the bubble! Better yet, DH changed his mind and wants to go with me as long as he isn't at work in the middle of the ocean! Score!

If you don't want SSR, try to waitlist the resort you would prefer... it has worked for me in the past....

You never know!! People's plans change all the time....jobs, finances, love and all that stuff changes everything.... there might be someone out there who said let's grab the room but we can always cancel it...and you might get that room!

We stayed at SSR before, wasn't our first choice either, but it was quite nice- the views of DTD from our balcony were stunning, and there was a lot of wildlife running about at night (we saw a fox- he was so cool). The spa there is well worth a trip, great pools. Would rather go to DTD for food since it's such a short walk or boat ride. The only "bad thing" was the proximity to the parks- no biggie though Have fun!!
