Booking something to use the Spring Discount offer

So...it doesn't look like we can make Easter this year, it has come upon us too soon:( and been pretty slow with work...So we checked packages this weekend for memorial day and we could do POR in a standard view royal room or WL in a woods view... DD is pushing for PORS because she thinks the theme pools will be more fun for the kiddos...I kind of like the idea of a deluxe when it's only 400 more than the moderate... Regardless we have never stayed at POR or WL and NEVER even visited the resorts so other than the websites we have no real feel for what to expect..Which pool experience do you think is nicer? Does anyone know if these resorts have the sandy beaches with some hammocks on them like CSR and CB and POLY do? Thanks for any input, going to probably book this Wednesday ...:)

IMHO, I would do WL. We just love WL, and the themed pools at the deluxes are way better than the Mods. The theming of WL is by far one the best hotels at WDW. We love it so much when we purchased into DVC recently we made WL our home resort. I think you DD would love the feature pool at WL.

There is no question the the pool at WL is better than the pool at PORS, but $400 better, I would say no. There is sort of a beach at WL and their are lounge chairs, but I am not positive about hammocks.

But do you think the rooms with the pools and the fact that it's on the MK look sort of makes it worth paying $ 400 more? Honestly if it was an Epcot area resort for $ 400 more PORS wouldn't even be in the running because we plan on a couple of days(actually 3) at HS and Epcot, 2 at MK and 1 and AK .. we are going for 7d/6n. We haven't decide to add park hopper once we arrive but when I book I am just doing the 1park option..

It is going to be a tough call. The only things the room at WL has over the ones at PORS are a few square feet and a balcony. Other than that is it pretty much a wash. Both are themed, have 2 sinks, a mini fridge and queen size beds. Location will be a bit better for your time at MK, everywhere else it is about a wash.

Personally, I would save the $400 at stay at PORS, but I am somewhat of a cheapskate when it comes to the rooms as I spend very little time in them.

Personally we were torn between the FQ and WL also. We have stayed at the FQ twice before and loved it!! I love the small feel of the resort and my boys loves the pool. I love the boat to take us to downtown disney which we used a few times each time we stay. We decided to to stay at FQ with a pool view room, we really love being close to the pools for afternoon breaks. I think we made a good call. I would take that extra 400 and do something special. We were able to do Dessert Party and i found that to be a good compromise. But whichever you choose your going to be in dIsney you cant go wrong!:)

So I am doing the reservation today:) .....I am thinking we are going to go with PORS in a royal room...If when we get closer to the date my money improves...or I really think I can't hang in a moderate for 7 days...I hopefully can change it over to WL...at the same pricing I am seeing on the website today..SO excited and work keeps interrupting my disney dreaming and planning...
