Bonnet Creek Resort

When I was leaving "the World" last month, I passed the entrance to the new Bonnet Creek Resort. I previously spoke with a CM and they told me this is not a Disney property, but they were pretty much forced by the state to allow the owners access to I-4 through Disney property. Has anyone seen this resort and what is the story with this property, Thanks

Bonnet Creek Resort is not technically on Disney Property. It is on a piece of land that the original owner refused to sell to Disney back in the 1960's. The owner's family later sold the land to Fairfield Inn who built and owns the time share resort on that property.

Actually, it was sold to Cendant Corporation and their subsidiary, Fairfield Resorts, which is a timeshare company (I know because my wife works in their accounting office here in Las Vegas). Fairfield Inn is a completely different company (a subsidiary of Marriott).

I've heard that rumour several times before also. Don't know how much merit to put in it!!

It doesn't even make sense. The building isn't thick enough for a full blown monorail to pass through and have a station. The train would be a third inside and 2 thirds outside or something.

Yes, re-checking my notes, you are correct. Thanks!

Great photo. I dont see all the hubub about having to have access through Disney property. Its obvious to me there would be direct access from I4.

You can put an intersection on I4 and by the time you built the properentry and exit ramps half of their property would be gone. Also there are already two I4 exits very close together. That would mean building another between them, which is not going to happen.

The Walt Disney World Swan and Walt Disney World Dolphin are official hotels of Walt Disney World Resort, and are both leased and managed by Starwood Hotels & Resorts. The property, the buildings and their designs are owned by Disney, but Starwood maintains the buildings, and manages the hotels. They pay Disney a fee for guest transportation and, like the Hilton, also pay a fee to be part of the Extra Magic Hours.

Hope this helps to dispells the rumors!

JPVonDrake is correct. You can check the Orange County Property Appraisers web site for the address and the record indicates that the property and buildings are owned by The Walt Disney World Company.

It isnt a disney property but they have to keep some sort of an appearance up to match disney. thats why the sign isnt totally disney. a cast member told me that at the saratoga springs

I am not convinced there are any significant benefits to owning a timeshare, but I will say that the facilities at the other Fairfield timeshare resorts we have been to have been outstanding (we can stay for $20 - $50 a night at any of them because my wife is an employee). We haven't stayed at Bonnet Creek yet, but we are looking forward to staying there on our next trip.

Here are some photos of the buildings, rooms, etc. for those who may not have seen it:
