Bongos Restaurant

My family and I were thinking about eating at Bongos in Downtown Disney on our next trip. HAs anyone eaten there? Would you recommend it, or any dishes? Do they serve Mojitos there? Any comment are greatly appreciated!

we took dinner there 4 years ago,
I don´t remember well what we had
1º dish was something with little porcions of different stuff
( I can´t remember what was on it , it was big )
for 2º the children had chicken and me and my husband
" vaca frita con frigoles" (not sure of the name)
It´s not like the real cuban taste

It´s nothing special , not to bad not to good ( that is our opinion)

The wife and I love Bongos. It is in my top three favorite restaurants at WDW. I'm not sure exactly what I usually get, but the waitors are very good about explaining the food. Iw ould say this is a must do.

The quality has gone down in recent years. I suggest lunch or eat at the little patio cantina instead of spending $$$ on it.

We went to Bongos in March, and were very pleased with it. They do serve mojitos (quite good ones) and the only recommendation I can give is because I only remember the name of one thing I had besides the mojitos. It's the Rice Pudding. WOW was that good! It's very creamy and light (some rice puddings can be to heavy) and the best part for me is there were no raisins in it.

I went there once a couple of years of ago and I was not impressed. You should go though and find out for yourself !

I loved Bongos... you have to try the Churassco! It was the best damn skirt steak I have ever had :slurp:

BONGOS is a great place for lunch or dinner!

The first time two of us went for lunch. We ordered "Cuban Sandwiches", which were AWESOME! The fried plantains are a nice break from the ever-present WDW french fries too!

The next time I went was with a party of 8 for dinner. The service was very good and there was a small band playing in the dining room. We got 8 different dinners and everyone enjoyed everything!

With so many dining choices in WDW, this place never seems to be one that makes the cut when deciding, but if you have the chance, by all means, give it a try!

MMMmmmmmmmm.....now I'm hungry for that sandwich again!

My wife and I and both of our families reserved the upstairs, outside patio at Bongos in 2001 for the rehearsal dinner for our wedding. Most of what we had was fantastic, and the patio is great, too. Great view of the water, AND the West Side of Downtown Disney.

The one thing I remember most, however, was that I had no idea what I was ordering without asking first, and even then I was a tad confused. I ended up with something that tasted good either way.

I LOVE Cuban food, and I truly think that Bongos is great! Its more "Americanized" Than some of the small family type restaurants you will find in Tampa and MIami, but still really wonderful! I would suggest Plantains...in any form! Its one of the things I miss here in Cali, tho the Mexican food is abundant

i love it the tamales are great when they have em and a personal favorite is the breaded cuban steak. gotta try it.
