Bonehead moves in the park........

I had a bonehead camera moment as well. One day I was not feeling well so I decided to take my camera to Epcot and just take my time shooting video, skipping all attractions. I wandered into Club Cool and was sampling the sodas and shooting some video when three very animated teenage girls walked up. One of the was so excited and couldn't believe that her friend had never tried Beverly. Seeing a perfect opportunity I asked if she would mind me getting her reaction on video. She said she wouldn't mind at all. The whole thing played out perfectly- the buildup, the priceless reaction then lots of laughing. I thanked them and the later when I looked at the video- yep bonehead. Never pressed record until it was over. I have good footage of the camera going back into my pocket. Doh!

One minitrip we didn't do any parks but all the extra stuff and took lots of pictures. My daughter really wanted to ride a boat. Well it was early one morning we decided to take the boat to Epcot then hop right on the bus to DTD. Halfway through the ride (and waking up more) I remembered you can't get right off the boat and onto a bus at International Gateway. Ah well. We just stayed on the boat until the next resort and took more pictures.

We did a big surprise trip for DD6's 5th bday back in 2011. On the morning of her actual bday, we surprised both of our girls with new outfits and shoes (the shoes for our younger one were the shoes DD6 wanted me to get for her), then we took them to Chef Mickey's, had a big custom bday cake delivered, spent the day at Epcot with tons of little surprises and lunch at Le Cellier (before our mid day break back at the room). Well we get to Chef MIckey's and I ask DH to take video while I take pictures...DH reaches in the bag...yeah, I forgot to pack the video camera. So, we rely on my DSLR for a while (sadly, it doesn't take video and this was pre-smart phones for us), but at about 10 am...by DSLR dies. Yeah- in all of the excitement prepping for bday day- I forgot to charge my battery the night before. It's really unfortunate that I forgot the pack the video camera b/c it can take stills- even if they're not the best quality. Still pretty sad over it. :(

My most recent bonehead Disney move was about a week ago. We were in Disneyland and hubby and I were getting ready to board Pirates of the Caribbean at about 7pm when I looked over and saw the Blue Bayou. And I thought to myself, "The Blue Bayou has good Monte Cristos, just like Cafe Orleans but good thing Cafe Orleans is cheaper." Then I suddenly remembered and turned to my husband and said, "Crap, we were supposed to eat lunch at Cafe Orleans today." I had totally forgotten about the reservation as we decided to to got to California Adventure in the morning instead of Disneyland. We had lunch at Earl of Sandwich instead. I felt like an idiot and luckily we were able to eat at Cafe Orleans the next day. Oh and in my defense I had a cold and was hopped up on Day-Quil.

When I went in 2008, we spent some of the day at Epcot. Some members of our party decided to stay behind while others decided to go back to the hotel. I couldn't remember where we had parked. My older sister, who think she's so much smarter than me, was very snotty to me. However, she couldn't exactly remember where we parked either. We did eventually find the car.

We did this at HS the first time we had a rental car. I told my ex to take a picture of the row location so we could find the car in case we forget...which we did....and...he took a picture of the row of cars, not row's location marker. Now you know how hard it was to match that picture of cars in the dark? And many had left and other cars taken their place. After 15 minutes of pushing a stroller up and down aisles I found a place to sit. 15 minutes after that he came rolling around with the car. Funny thing, we went to Sea World later that week and he did the same thing. Took a picture of a row of cars.

Last Disney trip-Spent $15 for my 3 year old a pair of sunglasses at MK-went to HS-had lunch and she must have taken them off some time while we were eating outside because when we got to Epcot no sunglasses to be found. Searched car, stroller and bags and no glasses wasting one good hour of Disney time. Rest of the trip, she wore $1 sunglasses from Target.

On my honeymoon, I took some video of our breakfast at CRT, and then put the camera back into my bag. Hours later, my husband surprised me with a scavenger hunt throughout the park and took out the video camera to tape it....no battery left. Brilliant me never turned the camera off, and we had hours of footage of the inside of my bag. None of the scavenger hunt was captured on video, but at least we had a regular camera. :)

While shopping at The Emporium, I looked at the shoes of another individual and thinking it was my husband, I started hugging and rubbing his back, while I showed him what I wanted to purchase. I am still not looking actually at the person while doing this (still gazing at the "treasure" I wanted to buy). Well, I start hearing laughing and I knew that laughter was my husband's, only it sounded much further away from me than this individual. Turns out I had been hugging and rubbing the back of a complete stranger. Oops!

After visiting WDW many times, we finally planned a visit to Disney Quest into our trip. We ordered the tickets upfront to get a discount. We spent the day in the resort pools, made it to Downtown Disney by dinner time to our reservation at Paradiso 37. After dinner, we wandered around a bit on our way to DQ. We finally get to Disney Quest about 9pm, we walk in, have fun for an hour, and they tell us they are closing! I felt SSOOOO BAD. I just assumed it was open to midnight like the rest of DD. We pleaded with the manager, and the ticket staff, they would offer us no assistance. Our fault, I admit, but they should've warned us when took our tickets upon entry that they were only open for 1 more hour......I would've gone another day! Lesson Learned!

My first trip I hadn't done much research and did not realize how easy and FREE it was to obtain Fastpasses. Our local parks you have to pay for those privileges :( So we spent 2.5 hours waiting in the 92 degree July heat to ride Everest. Lesson learned.

I mistakenly left a cash tip and a credit card tip at Teppan Edo. I left $50 cash and $55 tip to run on my credit card on a $130 meal.

I figured it was a small price for such great service, but felt pretty stupid after we left when I realized I did both. I know we could have gone back and explained it, but we just let them have it all.

Best service by far.

I've been wanting to try eating there but breaking the wife and kids away from the safe, American dishes is quite the monumental task....

I'm one of the pickiest eaters I know (ok... not "one of"... I know toddlers who enjoy a wider variety of foods than I do) and I loved Teppan Edo! DH and I split the steak and shrimp combo, and the steak was cooked perfectly, the shrimp was delicious, and the veggies and noodles were good too. Oh, and they give you a choice of plain white steamed rice or seasoned steamed rice. Tell your wife that if I liked it, she's going to love it! ;)

Sorry for the change of subject. Had to interject!

You have to go! There is good reason I tip so well at that place.

The steaks are Kansas City steaks and all the seafood is pretty good. More than anything, the respect shown by the staff from Japan is truly amazing. I visited Tokyo for a week and can confirm they match the Japanese culture perfectly. We even arrived at 12pm (they open at 12) and received the special welcome ceremony where the entire staff welcomes you to Japan and all bow for nearly 20 seconds as a sign of ultimate respect. They asked about our trip to Tokyo and were genuinely proud of high highly we spoke of their beautiful country and incredible people.

Truly a great meal and world class service and respect. It is very Americanized so I'm sure she'd enjoy at least getting the chicken.

Probably my biggest bonehead move would involve 7DMT. I had given up our FP's for it so we could spend our last mornings of park time at HS (DH was liking that more than MK, and I wanted him to get to ride his favorites one more time before we left)... so we ended up in line for 7DMT the night before our original FP, trying to at least ride it once. The ride went down, and we ended up having a CM at Guest Relations give us a "time lost" pass to ride it the next day, since we had given up our last hour of park time to wait in line and didn't get to ride.

Since we had plans to meet friends in Epcot after spending the next morning at HS, my plan of attack was for us to get to MK, ride 7DMT with our pass, and then hop on over to HS in time for our first FP, which wasn't until 12. Perfectly workable, right? Here's where the boneheaded moves come in:

1) I forgot to check the MDE app to make sure the ride was even back up until we were already pulling into theh MK on a bus. Of course, at that point I realized it was still down.
2) After picking up our passes and making our way to 7DMT, we stood around and waited for about 25 minutes, hoping it would come back up any minute, only to be sent away.
3) We got on a bus to head to HS, and as we passed the Poly, I checked the MDE app and saw that 7DMT was back to being open!
4) If we had left the MK sooner, we would have made it to HS in time for the SWW motorcade. Probably the biggest thing SWW-related DH would have enjoyed, since he's not big on waiting in long lines to meet characters, and we missed it because of my hopes of riding the damn mine train! :banghead:

Honestly, though, that's the only hiccup our whole trip had, and DH still insists he had a great time. I wish we could afford to go back soon!
