BoG - Change ADRs or go QS?

With Be Our Guest reservations becoming available soon, I'm trying to decide whether to change an ADR or just try quick service. Our other option is to pay out of pocket for a TS meal (either at BoG or another restaurant).

The ADRs I would be trading it for would be one of these:
Coral Reef (just heard the environment was awesome)
Cinderella's Royal Table (never eaten in the castle)
Akershus (Belle is my favorite princess)
Bongo's (we'd have to cut our DTD day short and head over to MK for dinner)

So what would you do? Pay out of pocket for a meal (I'd have to figure out which would be cheaper), change one of the above ADRs, or go for a QS? I'm concerned that the QS meals will be completely insanely busy. If I knew that Belle would be at BoG, there would be no question, but I've heard different things about it.

That's my dilemma. Thanks for your opinions! :)

Heres my take...

Id try for the TS at Be our Guest..I like the proposed menu..and would love to be one of the first to eat there.

I would not trade the Cinderella's table if you have not done it before

Id cut Bongo's...thats just my 2 cents

I've been debating the same thing, but I think I'm just going to take my chances on QS and head to Columbia House if it is too crazy. That said, my reasoning is mostly because some of the lunch options are more appealing to me than the dinner choices. If the dinner options were more appealing to my tastes, I would likely be moving some of my ADRs around to make room for it.

No one has an opinion on this? :( lol!

Well, I did...... ;)

That was our take as well. I think the dinner menu is OK (I'd probably go for the Sauteed Shrimp and Scallops), but DH is not enthused. So, we'll keep our Garden Grill (dinner) ADR, and take our chances with BoG for lunch during one of our MK days.

Oh I would change my reservations for sure just to try a new place! We are leaving the 18th so we will miss it by 1 day :(. I would definitely switch coral reef but I just had a bad experience there. I think I would prefer the TS over the QS so I can sit and take in all the details. I bet the QS will be so packed! Also for us cutting a DTD day short isn't a big deal since it is mostly shopping and I have little ones who HATE to shop!

Those are just my thoughts! I wonder how bad it will be trying to get a reservation on the 20th.

I am having the same issue. I am afraid CS will be really crazy....all my ADR's are set. I printed the menus for both lunch and dinner and will be taking a family poll. I really don't want to give up any of my ADRs. Does anyone know if the prices are listed anywhere? ;)

Ahhhhh- join the rest of the crazy 7am mess we'll all be in on Monday and try for an ADR :D

Seriously though, I think I'd rather deal with phone chaos than chaos in the parks. I just can't help but think that lunch is going to be crazy insane. So, my vote is try for a dinner ADR.

As for dropping a meal vs. paying OOP- why don't you plan like you're going to pay OOP for one of these and then see what the budget looks like before you travel? If you do wind up dropping- Coral Reef is the first thing I'd consider dropping. I've only dined there once, but the food was subpar when we went. The atmosphere would be cool if you don't have any local aquarium style restaurants, but if the decision is between BoG and Coral Reef...I think I'd go for BoG. :)

I think I've decided to drop Bongo's. Hopefully Monday won't be terrible...

We're facing the same dilema.... I saw this morning that they will begin taking ressies on the 20th. I told my DH & DD that we have the weekend to either decide what we're willing to give up & try to get an ADR or just go QS.... We would be looking at giving up either Boatwright's or San Angel Inn. Tough choice for us as we love them both!

I would try for it! Why not! I would change Bongo's or Coral Reef. Oh - and is Akerhaus bfast or lunch/dinner? The menu is "unique" for lunch and dinner FYI. I didn't like it at all. Bfast however was awesome.

Dinner. :) It's 1 credit either way.

Yeah - I would change it. Have you seen the menu? My DH thought it was 'ok' and he usually likes more unique things.

The BoG menu? Yes! We love trying new things, not to mention Beauty and the Beast is my favorite movie... Kind of a must do. :)

Oh no, I mean for Akerhaus at dinner - have you seen that menu. I would change the ADR if you could to BOG b/c Akerhaus is not good, in my opinion.

Oh, we've seen that menu as well. I want to go there because Belle is actually there and I'm pretty sure BoG is not a character meal.

You are right - no characters are scheduled to appear. that being said - i think that is a dumb move on Disney's part. It would be a perfect and easy fit, just like CRT. Any who...there is a good shot you will see Belle at the Theatre on Main Street. :) I've seen her there twice.

I agree! How does it make sense to build a restaurant themed around Beauty and the Beast and have NO characters from the movie?

Exactly - no sense at all! Hopefully they change this once they get up and running. Since they took characters from Liberty Tree, it would be nice to add that option at another TS at MK.
