Boba Fett: A Star Wars Story

Ugh we don’t need this
I'm kind of with you. I'd rather see Boba show up in Solo 2 than have his own film.

I don't want Obi Wan, either. We just got out of seeing Solo, and while I enjoyed it tremendously, I'm over prequel/origin stories. I want to see Star Wars Stories set in the universe but featuring only new characters and stories (maybe with the occasional fan service cameo).

Boba Fett was a character who was super hyped... and then was killed off really easily. I haven't seen the Star Wars Christmas special, so I can't speak for his appearance there, but as a kid, he never was a favorite of mine to watch (he wasn't like Vader, the Emperor, or Jabba in terms of villainy/skeeziness). "Boba Fett- where?!"... bye Boba.

Then Attack of the Clones came along, and honestly, I don't hate the reveal that Boba's a clone. Don't really know how Disney/LucasFilm is planning on making this film without recasting though, since Temuera Morrison is 57 now.

from what i’ve read earlier today, at $35.6 mil yesterday, some are saying solo is underperforming. i wonder if that’ll effect any future spin offs.

I just realized I’m being slightly hypocritical about Boba, as the one item of Star Wars merch that I have on my bookshelf (next to a couple Marvel items and a lot of HP stuff) is this photo manipulation of Boba Fett riding an old fashioned bicycle. But just because I bought that doesn’t mean I want a Boba Fett solo film.

I really do want a Obi Wan movie. Its really the only one of the original characters I wanted a movie for. Don't worry about new stories and characters, you will be getting at least 5 movies of it.

I see what you did there.

This photo is something that I literally would not just come up with on my own (support your local arts festivals, friends)-

I haven’t seen Solo yet, but it seems like they could have easily incorporated Boba into the film (though if sequel rumors are true, I suppose they could still add Boba and Jabba, and while they’re on Tattooine, throw Owen and Beru in there too)
Solo predates any involvement with Fett, but you might see solo in the Fett a Star Wars story (asws). Mild spoiler: There’s still a lot of room from Solo at the end of his movie and the start of ANH, not like Rogue flowing directly into ANH.

I’m anticipating some character stand-alone shows on the streaming service like they have done with marvel.

A thousand times this. A movie focused on Boba Fett only makes him less interesting. The prequels already lessened his character by taking away some of the mystery and showing him as a whiny kid, don't make it even worse.

The three most useless, over exposed characters in Star Wars history are boba fett (that prequel nonsense was beyond kindergarten level), snoke (wha????), and darth maul...

So instead of correcting “Lucas as a tycoon” mistakes...guess who’s heading back down the path??

Very disappointing.

Nothing they’ve done has come close to eclipsing the baddie performances of Vader in empire or macdiarmid’s eerie performance in jedi...

Not even close.

Apparently anything “decent” died in the Reagan years.

Why is there this presumed long, personal history between Boba Fett and Han Solo? Their entire relationship is well explained in the original trilogy.
