I just saw an article today that he was in the running for Uber COO. Doesn't mean that he'll end up there though.I thought I heard he was finishing up negotiations to replace Lynton for Sony?

No I'm not, Just go check @ParentsOf4 graphs as to the net increase in shareholder value, Iger does not fare well in that comparison.
I disagree. Eisner's final years weren't just bad. They were dismal and almost beyond repair. We're not quite there with today's Disney (the plethora of talent staying on with the company is evidence IMO)No he's worse than Eisner, and will lead Disney to disaster.
Doesn't matter. The majority of shareholders and board are happy with how he's lined their pockets.
He's at least been able to build sustained growth year-over-year. And, since they don't have a suitable replacement on deck, they're not going to make a change real quick. Doing so would be foolish and put the business at risk. That's not saying he's irreplaceable, but as far as the board is concerned, he's doing the job he was hired to do, and doing it quite well.

The people at Pixar, Lucasfilm and Marvel for one. Add to that many A-list talents returning to work for the company and animation's return to form and you have a good base for business. You may not like the way the parks are handled but this company is much more than rides and stage shows. What is this talent you speak of?, Iger's fired anyone with a creative bone in their body. JL and JR stay on because they know where the bodies are buried.
Hey! I resemble that remark!Stockholders are stupid.
She was a home wrecker, if you catch my drift. Are you sure Bob and Willow share a bed?, Seems more a 'marriage of convenience'.
Bob Iger was being interviewed today by his wife Willow Bay at the University of Southern California Marshall
Iger says Beauty and the Beast is well past $400 million world wide.
Iger has been on Twitter for a while but under a fake name. Iger joined Twitter officially because he has felt its a platform that can be used by him as a tool.
Bob says The Last Jedi is quite good. Episode 9 is being written and entering early production. They will not be using CGI for Carrie Fisher in Episode 8 like in Rogue One. The Han Solo film will cover finding Chewie, and how Han got his name. Lucasfilm has a team working on the next decade for Star Wars films. Mark Hamill talks in Episode 8.
Disneyland Shanghai was 17 years in the making. Iger wanted people of China to feel they have built it.
Iger says Disney uses technology to tell better stories and have better experiences.
Bob's Christmas card featured him riding the Tron coaster in Shanghai.
Iger has told creatives to not create Virtual Reality experiences but rather create real experiences.
Pandora: You feel the pulse of the Banshee and different temperatures, using 3D. The Navi animatronic has incredible expressions.
Iger has ridden the falcon ride in the simulation lab at Imagineering.
Iger says he is serious that July 2019 will be his end. He says succession is a complicated thing. Come 2019 Iger will have 45 years in at ABC and Disney.
Ugh good luck there with that dumpster fire. Their president quit last week and it's just scandal after scandal. The funny thing is I can see them being very popular and profitable for a long time if they can just manage themselves correctly. Is Staggs the man to do that? I think it would be fun to find out leading up to a potential IPO. I think they said the company is valued at 70 Billion!!Speaking of Staggs, he is in the running for COO of Uber.
So DIS has no effective succession plan?

I do I'm kind of wondering why bob does not have more of a 'trophy wife' than willow - a 40 something academic does not really move the trophy wife meter much but when one thinks Broacdcast network head + J school dean well 'convenience' is the logical conclusion both give the other a legitimacy that neither possesses on their own merits...
I don't know if I can survive another year of this let alone two.
What are you talking about? If this is being awake I would prefer to stay asleep Thank You.Time to wake up. Even the leaders of the Doom and Gloom movement have been changing their tune lately.
The whole Wall Street system is stupid.Stockholders are stupid.
What are you talking about?? The merchandise gold these movies create make for piles of cash, and generate popularity for our beloved parks. I don't find it to be a coincidence that the parks are at the height of their popularity at the same time Marvel Disney and co are hitting their stride. The movie unit does not even budge the needle for contributions of spendable cash you do know for ANY movie only about 30 cents out of every dollar collected at the box office goes BACK to the studio. It's why the movie industry is dying it's no longer profitable.
It's why every studio is trying to sell itself to the Chinese with hot money in their pockets. Because the movie industry is going the way of the buggy whip.
