Boatwrights. Is it any good?

We're considering eating at Boatwright's at Port Orleans on our next trip to the world. We've never eaten there before and we don't stay at Port Orleans. Is it worth the trip?

The food at dinner is actually pretty good. Wait time and service are another issue, however - because it's now the only table service restaurant for all of PO, wait times even with a reservation are substantial, and the service, while friendly, is quite slow. So don't plan dinner there expecting to get in and out quickly.

Boatwrights

I had breakfast at Boatwrights back in 2000 and I hate to say it.. I got very, VERY, sick!

I was fine in the morning, but by late afternoon, I was not feeling all too hot. I'm wondering if I caught a bad batch of food, but because of that one time, I swore to NEVER go back there again.

But, everywhere else on Disney is good! Just bring your appetite.

I have eaten at Boatwright's on at least 3 occasions. Every visit has had good food and and at least average service (meaning nothing stood out). The guy on the piano in the lounge next door is worth a few minutes viewing as well!

I know people from Louisiana would probably disagree but I've had the Jambalaya a few times and it never dissapoints. Buuuuuut what do I know, I'm just a Northern Yankee

Bob Jacskon, absolutely. Hysterical. It's a riot watching grown men lighten up and running around the lounge like there riding horses. And the ladies doing the chicken dance

I ate breakfast there about a week ago during my last trip and it was delicious. I definently recommend the French Toast. It's so good.

We ate dinner at Boatwrights twice during our recent 2 week stay, the food was good, nothing to spectacular but certainly better than some theme park restaurants that we tried. The service was fine on our first visit, but was seriously lacking on the second visit (apetizers arrived before the drinks and the entrees arrived before we had finished our apetizers). On both occasions the restaurant was not busy (approx 9pm). One final comment the noise from the adjacent lounge was quite loud, this is not the place for a quiet meal whilst the piano player is on!

Breakfast there is great, love the banana stuffed french toast. Dinner on the other hand is just okay, but is better than some of the park restaurants. Service does tend to be slow, you're in the south after all.

Don't mean to revive a dead thread, but a review of Boatwright's appeared in some publication online, and it seems to be consistent with what everyone here has mentioned. Fair food, and so-so service.

That really is hard to understand. Of all things that Disney should be good at, it's the service. Yet, it appears that the level of service at this place seems to be consistently below standards, by all accounts. Is the manager of the restaurant asleep at the wheel?

Zz.

Was thinking about making a trip over there just for the Jambalaya! Although banana stuffed french toast sounds mmmmmm. May have to go there for breakfast AND dinner!;)
