Hello!

It’s been a minute since I’ve had a trip, but I have so enjoyed keeping up with things in your reports!

Now, I am SO excited to share that, like many others here, I’ll be visiting the mouse THIS week! And away we go!

When: May 30-June 4, 2023

Where: BoardWalk Inn

Who: Me and my dad, R. We are very excited for this father-daughter trip!

Monorail again! I get screened for security nearly every time.

We spent the evening monorail resort hopping and enjoyed all the scenery.

Finished off with a boat ride back to MK and a bus ride back to Boardwalk.

Yup. Epcot Forever from our room!

We had a great first day. Now, to turn in early and get ready for Epcot tomorrow!

I think I've been to Steakhouse 71 about 4 times now and I swear it gets better each visit, LOVE IT!!

We started out the day early trying to get a boarding group and a genie plus selection. Were we successful?

YES!

Quick breakfast in the room and off to Epcot for early entry we go!

I didn’t get screened today at security! Dad though, not so fortunate. How dare he smuggle that umbrella into Epcot!

We caught some work on the topiaries.

First stop was Ratatouille. This was new for Dad. We waited about 25 minutes. He was very impressed. We had seen some vloggers who judged it a little harshly so he went in with lower expectations but ended up loving it. He has an engineering brain so he really appreciates the technology behind it all.

Our trip is coming to an end tomorrow and I am definitely going to finish the full report once I’m home, but I can’t help but share something wild that happened this evening! We were at MK and decided to end the night by riding Little Mermaid. The queue said 15 minutes. The line took forever and I couldn’t figure out why because there weren’t a ton of LL’s. We got to the load area and it stopped THREE different times in a 5 minute span due to what appeared to be different people trying to switch clamshells. We finally loaded and everything seemed normal…

But THEN, our clamshell wouldn’t turn the correct direction. We rode the entire ride after Scuttle facing the clam behind us.

Face to face.

I could not contain myself.

It didn’t happen to anybody else. The ride operators had to physically turn around the shell when we got to the end of the ride. They promptly placed a repair tag on that clam.

Has this happened to anybody else?

What a way to end the night!

It was still pre-park opening so we headed over to The Land. I loved the lily pads in the water and thought it added to the look, but Dad commented every time we passed that the water looked terrible.

Soarin’ was a walk-on. We were row 3 so we got to enjoy some feet in our flight, but at least the Eiffel Tower was straight!

It was surprisingly empty in the building. We also walked straight on to the farm ride.

And requested the front row.

Being as it was so early in the morning, we noticed more CM’s than usual tending to various things in the greenhouses. I really enjoy seeing this sort of thing. I am consistently in awe of how things run so seamlessly.

Multiple people seemed perplexed by this signage.

We tried to peek in the Moana section, but couldn’t see much

Well, this one’s probably accurate. Exercise has never been a personal fav.

We did purchase Genie+ 3 out of 4 park days this trip. I feel like it was 100% worth it. We honestly hardly waited in any lines. I had read somewhere on here that it was best utilized when it was in the $22-$25 price range, as it was crowded enough to need it but not too crowded to the point it wasn’t usable. I completely agree with this assessment. While we of course don’t love forking out extra $$$, we did find it very convenient to have.

Our goal was to stay in this area due to both a LL for Test Track and our GotG boarding group. On the way to TT, we roamed through Creations. I thought these ears were neat!

We scanned in for TT and waited about 10 minutes to board.

It was SO close to our BG so we just sat and relaxed.

Finally, our BG was called!

On the way we ran into these guys. I am SO thankful all of the live entertainment is back. It is what makes Disney, Disney.

We scanned in for GotG and waited about 40 minutes in the queue. Looking back, that was our fault for not being there right when the group was called. We rode it again on a different day and walked right up when they called us and waited less than 20.

GotG Review: The hype is real. I LOVED it. I get bad motion sickness in vehicles so I was worried about this ride, but it didn’t bother me at all. Dad, on the other hand, who never gets motion sickness, had issues. He had to regroup for a bit on a bench afterwards.

YES! When I saw your report I couldn’t believe it! We also were in MK for the EEH and did Tron in the rain around the same time as y’all I think, so TWICE!

LOVE the name!! We thoroughly enjoyed the Boardwalk on this trip. We stayed there once years and years ago, but it is definitely somewhere on the list again for the future!

Tricia and I are across the lake at the yacht club and are also here till Sunday
