Not really. Villas at BW will start with an entire section closing.

It's really not the case you could see refurbishment dates by looking at member availability as there are many factors as to why that would happen. Refurbishment would not result in a time. Not being available all together. It would only limit availability but not eliminate. So for the dates that the refurbishment begins, they will only sell out the member availability faster. But it wouldn't be the case that there's ever a date and time where there is no member availability to begin with. And for that reason it would be hard to find refurbishment dates by looking for when there is no member availability.

DVC booking starts at 11 months. Looking for BW now for Summer will likely need a waitlist. The rooms are already booked!

Not sure if you are a DVC member but for info, when they take out rooms of availability, there are 2 things that tend to get noticed.

1. At 8am at the 11 month window, certain categories of rooms aren’t available to book. You do notice this because those who have already booked over that date are holding some of the rooms. Ordinarily the remainder of the rooms are available.

Thanks to those who track availability over the course of the year, members know what kind of availability to expect. So we know for example that at 11 months for May at the BWV, standard view rooms are going to be hard as would BW view, but Pool/garden view should be possible to get for say the next 3 weeks. Anomalies are noticed. When someone calls Member Services and asks, MS can see how many rooms are actually available.

2. Anyone walking a room suddenly gets blocked. The only way that happens at 11 months is if rooms are taken out of inventory.

It’s been discussed on forums like the DIS since Fall that the BW refurb was happening in Fall 2023, because of the sudden lack of availability at the 11 month mark. Could it start earlier? Yes. But when they start trying to move DVC members to a different resort or to regular rooms things get messy very quickly. And the hits the fan.

Exactly the same thing happened at the Poly. The studios weren’t due for a refresh, but it became apparent that a significant number of studios had been taken out of inventory starting a few months after the regular rooms were scheduled for refurbishment. Some people were called to move them to regular rooms but some ended up upgraded to 2-beds at Riviera, for example, because they insisted on kitchen facilities to make up for the lack of a kitchenette and 2 bathrooms.

8am is not when inventory updates and 11 months out there will always be inventory available as at no time is 100% of the DVC inventory blocked out.

8am only apply for the opening of the 11 month window. having said that We just not are connecting. Let's just stick with agree to disagree. Just don't be too shocked when the BW Villa construction time line is finally known and it does not match your expectations based from DVC member dot com.
