Near home, we have http://www.buckwoodpethotel.com/ and
http://www.kennels.com/ which are pet resorts. They pamper your pooch when you are away from home. We would like to find a place like this closer to WDW that offers similar services, but haven't been able to find one online yet. If you know of a "pet resort", please email me or post it to the group.
We have an 8 pound Chihuahua named Deuce and we have a WDW vacation planned in late September. We are kind of crazy about the pup. He is only 6-1/2 months old. We have discussed traveling with him and we have discussed boarding him. It's a hard choice for us. The Disney resorts won't let us keep him in our room, but we would love to stay on-site. So, we have considered traveling down to FL with him and leaving him with a nice kennel/boarding resort from Sunday until Saturday. This way, we can board him for a minimal amount of time and be close enough to him that we could get to him quickly, if for some reason it became necessary for us to be there to care for
him. He is house broken, crate trained, and has had all his
vaccines. He is a sweetie and is good with cats and ok with other
dogs once he gets to know them. He is more like our child than our pet. He is still in the chewing stage and can tear through pig ears in a matter of days. He also has some favorite toys that we plan on bringing for him too.
