Blue ID Confiscated

So, I am a former college program participant from Spring 2017.

I am now an annual (p)assholder as I now live and work in the area. At the completion of my program, I kept my Blue ID as many do because my leaders never asked me to turn it in and it was a nice memory item to have. Anyways, long story short, I was visiting the parks yesterday and my Blue ID happened to be at the bottom of my backpack I use for going to parks. When I went through security, a security guard pulled it out of my bag and asked how I have a Blue ID with no picture (as they used to do for CPs until recently) to which I was upfront and let him know that I am a former CP. It then escalated to his leader coming over, questioning me on why I still had it and confiscating it.

I tried to tell them that it was just for a keepsake as many do. I had no use for it because one, it obviously wouldn’t work for any discounts and two, even if I did, I get the same discount and free parking with my annual pass.

The security team was very rude and threatening about it.

Could there be any further consequences?

Why did your Blue ID "happen" to be in your backpack if it was just kept as a memory? Wouldn't it have been at home with the rest of your memorabilia? Security probably wondered the same thing; why have it with you if you weren't intending to try to use it in some way?

I do not know if there will be further consequences - I hope it is a one and done incident. Did they allow you to enter the park, or were you turned away? If the former, it is probably the end of it. If the latter, there may be future consequences, such as banning you from the parks..

Again, I would not go to a former place of employment with my old ID on my person - unless I intended to gain some benefit from doing so. Which might get me escorted off property.

The security team was doing their job, not being "rude and threatening". You were entering a former place of employment with a work ID card that should not have been in your possession in that situation.

I was not allowed to walk out of my work location on my last day at Disney without handing over my blue ID AND my main gate passes. Both you and your former leader are in the wrong. If you wanted it for your memory book, you should have taken a picture or made a photocopy. I did the former and have it saved. There are not many perks you can receive inside the parks with your ID as when it is scanned, it will undoubtedly not work. However, outside the property it is a different story. It could be used at dining locations, retailers, and other places around Orlando. Kudos to security for stopping this abuse.
Gotta get that sweet sweet 10% discount at Flippers amirite?
