Block Party Bash and 3:40 ADR at Sci Fi?

We have a 3:40 lunch ADR at Sci Fi on Monday, May 5, and we want to be sure to see the Block Party Bash, which is at 3. Any advice on best location to be so we can get tot he 3:40 ADR on time? I'm assuming the parade is short enough that if we are in the first 1/3 or half of its route, we'll be OK - but I don't know if it runs the same direction as the old Stars & Cars, or how the stops throw the timing off. Any advice?

alternatively, any chance we could get seated at Sci Fi if we show up around 1:15 or so, without an ADR? That was our original hope, but the ADRs are taken.

We watched the parade a little past the "tip board" right before you get to the "hat hub". This spot falls under the first stop of the parade but at the very front... we thought it was an absolutely horrible location and spent the whole time watching the same 4 dancers jump on the trampolines

We didn't see a single character with exception to the Green Army guy and a glimpse of Mr. Potato Head until the show was over and the parade needed to move to the next stop.

Had we been closer to the park entrace our experience would have been different as the characters do interact with the crowd during certain dance numbers.

I'd stake out a seat around the entrance to Sunset Blv maybe even a little closer. Once the show is over it move's quickly to the next stop. As soon as it "rounds" the Hub heading towards Star Tours, split away and walk down through the ABC Commisary. I don't see any reason why you wouldn't make it by 3:40p. The show wasn't that long and I didn't notice any traffic delays.

You should have no problem. See the parade from around the hat area or Hollywood Blvd. It should finish around 3:30, then head over to the SciFi. You will easily make it by 3:40. Have fun!

Thanks for the tips! It sounds like it moves in the reverse order from Stars and Cars (didn't it end at the front of the park)? Anyway - this will be our first Studios parade despite 12 trips to WDW in 5 years, and our first Block Party Bash, despite 3 visits to California Adventure since it debuted!
