I live 2 hr.s away from a Schlitterbahn Its the best.... They have all kinds of rides shoots rafts. COASTERS !!! lol ~ well water coasters ~ I waited 4 hrs in line for the " kool" coaster. That was a big waist of time Everytime you hit the bottom of a hill.. Your tailbone hits the fiber glass slide...~* ouch*~.. Butt ...... lol......... besides that the park is great... Its huge and scenic..:animwink:

Most of my family lives outside of Austin in a little place called Buda, TX. Whenever I head down to visit some family, we always go to Shlitterbahn (sic). It's a great water park, actually its more lke 2 waterparks, because you have to ride a tram to get one of them...

The water rides are innovative, although the theming doesn't compare to disney's ability. They have 2 lazy rivers, although one is nice and fast (my favorite).... My stepbrother and I can stay in there all day. we also like the slide that takes you down into "slime river" where the slide joins with the nearby river and is coated in thick algae. Yum... When we're at that part, my step-brother and I often try to get the other out of his tube...

The worst element of the Texas waterpark are the trams. I was on one that broke down. They made everyone run 3 blocks on blacktop (and broken glass) all the way to the main park. I ended up unable to walk for the duration of the trip from burns on my feet.

I'm not a huge fan of slides, so I still haven't gone to BB but I'm going at the end of march, first of april, TL is the best. The theme is great, and who can beat the wave pool with the beach around it? I've also heard that at BB you get burnt easy because it's all white, anyone know if that's true?

I don't know if its true or not, but...

That's an interesting theory, I never heard of it. However, I got the worst sunburn of my life at Typhoon Lagoon. I forgot to "screen" my ears, and my left ear turned into one giant charred pus bubble.

Still, I say visit all of the waterparks. They have a charm all their own, and they are suitable different from each other.

Is it true at B B you go through a tunnel on the lazy River and its freezing Cold? Plus: Schlitterbahn has a kool surfing ride.. You can get a boogie board and surf all day on a man made machine.. i think that SB is an ok place, as far as it being the best in the country i have to disagree....it was very unclean when i went and the themeing was not all that, if i had a choice, i would wait 4 weeks to go to disney's blizzard beach and not even go to SB, it wasnt all that....

Yes - I've been twice and it's worth the 'hype' It doesn't have quite the themeing of Blizzard Beach, but it's great. So yes it is SOOOO GOOD that is beats and Disney waterpark.

I've been to Schlitterbahn twice!

It's probably the best Water Park in thw World! I like Disney World Water Park but, untill Disney puts in Uphill waterslides, Shlitterbahn is my favorite. It's a very large park too! You have to travel by tram to get around the park. It's extremly fun!:sohappy:

Its not going to have theme. It wasnt MEAN'T TO HAVE A THEME .. Ask anyone who has been there they dont care about the stupid theme .. they just like the atmosphere and the RIDES !!! lol.. B B doesnt even have the BEST rides...
But involving " theme" yeah it does... The Travel Channel isn't looking for the BEST THEME in a water park they wont the Deluxe Package.

Personally I think Typhoon Lagoon, for being that old, it's excellently themed. I love the idea for the park and the many hidden artifacts, the music and that you don't need to spend all the day in it.

Blizzard Beach was fun when I went the last time, but personally, I think Typhoon Lagoon is more beautiful and a lot more fun. The wavepool in Typhoon Lagoon is soooooooo cool. Blizzard Beach is great, don't get me wrong, but to me it's just not as much fun. Does anyone else agree??

Blizzard Beach is my fav...best waterslides, including Teamboat Springs, the best family raft ride on the planet! And they have Winter Summerland, which I love!

I almost drowned in the wave pool at BB! but it was fun! My bf was a lot taller than me so we kept going to the deepest part of it and then the big waves started! I got so tired of swimming for my life! lol

I looooved BB and its Lazy River! I could really fall asleep there!

Blizzard Beach has more slides and newer ones, but Typhoon Lagoon is my favourite Disney park. I decorated my room after Typhoon Lagoon!
