I've been to Blizzard Beach, but never on the summit. I know a few people who have done it and the majority of the people thought it was great. A few have been hesitant to go on it again because of the length of the slide and said it was pretty scary. I guess its just one of those things where you have to experience it for yourself and form your own opinion.

To me visiting BB and not going to the Summit Plummet is like visiting Paris without visiting the Eiffel Tower. It is a really thrilling ride, which compared to the Humunga Cowabunga at Typhoon Lagoon, in here you have time to feel the thrill since the drop lasts distinctively some seconds more. When you reach the summit, you can see almost all Disney World from the top! I recommend this attraction to anyone which is not afraid of heights and has no trouble in going at high speed. The only cons. is that the line might be extremely long for a slider that lasts no more than 5 seconds.
But....it's worth it.

If you dont mind getting the wedgie from hell, than than you can deal with the slide..... the actual ascent up the stairs is more scary then the slide. I actually found the slide right next to Summit Plummet (Slush Gusher) to be much more intense, because the 3rd hill kind of ejects you off the slide for a moment.

I've been to BB, but don't have the guts to go on Summit Plummet (I'm afraid of heights and don't like waterslides too much). My boyfriend went on it a couple of years ago and when we went again in April, he didn't want to go on it because he didn't think a 2 hour wait was worth it.

Summit Plummet is the pinnacle of water park attractions. It's fantastic. Their is only two things that hamper the experience: 1) The aforementioned "wedgie from hell" & 2) Waiting in line so high up on a windy day. After being in the water you can get pretty freakin cold up there. But that's just more reason to hop on and slide down. But the ride is absolutely thrilling.

Summitt Plummitt is my husband's favorite and he insists I am going next time. I am afraid of heights and don't care to do the wedgie thing. Humunga Cowabunga was the most I am willing to do. On a note: Last time we were at Typhoon Lagoon my sister was told to hurry up when she had come down from a slide. The cast member said "Hurry up ma'am". Her reply was "If you don't mind, I am pulling my bathing suit out of my *ss". His reply was "take your time ma'am". It was hilarious.

Mark went on it and his shorts got ripped down both sides  If ONLY i'd had the video camera. The best thing was that he didn't know until somebody pointed it out to him  The cast members were great though, they just told him to go to the shop and they gave him a free pair of shorts. Unfortunately there was a huge gust of wind on the way to the shop

Summit Plummet - one of the greatest thrills at WDW, but get to BB early and head straight for the slide. I queued for an hour and a quarter the 1st time I did it, and it was all over in 5 seconds!

Way more intense than Humonga Cowabunga but not as painful, I always seem to get burns on my back on the TL slides.

I recommend Summit Plummet. I am afraid of heights but this is my favorite water park attraction. Go to BB at opening time and do SP first to avoid a line. The wedgie is intense but not painful. Howver I usually get three bruises. One on my right calf, one on my right butt cheek and one on my left shoulder blade, but I think it is because I try to raise up to look down over my body as I go down.

It's not the fall that kills you; it’s the sudden stop at the bottom. And in the case of summit plummet, that sudden stop all happens right on your bum. There is nothing worse than a 45 mph enema!

Heading for the great escape.
Agree wiyh earlier post done Summit several times and always found Slusher far more intense, especially as every timr ive done it ive lost contact with the tube at some point ( a little air time)
something youll never get at Summit.
Summit is a great ride for Star Trek fans as youl certainly wipe out all Klingons.

I heard that being the person to escort people off the slides at Summit Plummet is one of the most requested jobs at Disney, because at least one lady per day looses her top going down!
