 Just thought I would register for some sympathy. I've been to WDW before, decided to take my wife (Just married in June) to the park for our honeymoon! We were looking forward to Blizzard Beach though. Turns out they're closing for refurbishment on January 10th (the day we've already bought tickets to arrive on! (FML) Oh well lol guess we're doing Typhoon Lagoon instead!

But hey I thought ahead, I didn't add the WPF&M option to my ticket so I'm not really missing out on much.

TL is actually the better of the two parks, but that's just one opinion.

And January is a terrible time (generally) for water parks.

Sure, you can luck out with a sunny 80 degree day. But you can also get a windy 55 degree day with a windchill in the low 40s. Or something in between.

We love both parks. Typhoon Lagoon is great! If we had to choose, we'd pick TL. When we go in November, TL will be closed so we will happily be at Blizzard Beach.

In Florida? You'll only hit the 50s in the early morning and Florida isn't very windy. It'll be 80 after noon, don't worry. But I do agree Typhoon Lagoon is just as good of a park as Blizzard Beach. Blizzard Beach just has more thrills.

i will have to disagree with you, i've seen many days were the temp hasn't even hit 70 degrees.

No, not quite. There are days it WILL stay in the 50s/60s, and those days CAN be windy. But you got the better deal. TL is much better of a park.

Not true by a long shot. Average temperature in January in central Florida is 61 degrees and it will typically max out at 72 degrees. The morning low temperatures average just under 50 degrees. Unless you are an Eskimo those are hardly ideal water park conditions.

Yeah when i was there in January this year. It was in the 50's overnight. I think the warmest was 72. That actually had to be the first Disney trip I never went into a pool.

Anybody know if anything exciting is happening over the refurb or just general maintanence.

Each water park tends to have a winter cycle where it will close for a few months for general upkeep. When I was working there, Blizzard was typically right after the new year for two months or so, and then Typhoon followed, with one park always being open for the water park diehards that thought Summitt in 50 degree weather was great fun.
