First time blogger here!! Although, I read WDWmagic everyday!! The BF and I will be at Disneyworld (FINALLY!!) Dec. 12th-17th and neither of us have been to HS, AK, or Epcot....much less the water parks! Has anyone been to Blizzard Beach in December? Is it going to be way too cold? Or is it still fun? Any help on this would be great!! Thanks!!! :0)

Most days should still be warm enough for a trip to a water park. Just remember, as soon as the sun starts going down, it will get chilly and damp.

December is hit or miss with weather. When we were there a few years ago, it was more than warm enough for water parks. We were in tanks & shorts all day. At night, it does cool down, but Blizzard Beach closes at 5pm everyday in December so you won't have to worry about that.

I'd check the weather 10 days out before your trip, see how it's looking, and make your decision at that point. If it's warm enough, it would still be fun, because crowds should be significantly smaller than they are in the summer.

A group of us were there for Christmas Season/New Years in December 2005.

We went to Blizzard Beach on Christmas Day at 10am! Had a fantastic time. Lovely sunny morning, there was a little chill in the air...however running up all those stairs to get to the tubes kept us warm. We almost had the whole water park to ourselves on that day!!

Would certainly do it again and recommend it!!

Welcome aboard

I suppose it also depends on what sort of weather you normally experience in December. Being from the UK, a typical December Florida day is equivalent to a typical UK summer day

Yup Yup,

Me and my BF were getting al sorts of comments and looks from local guests at Xmas time, we were there in shorts and tee's, everyone else was in jumpers and jeans etc.

We tried to explain that this is better than our summer in the UK, (and even lets not start on our summer this year, what's that about).

As Captain hook says, it all depends on what you think is cold. There can be a chilly day here and there, but nothing so cold as to stop you from going swimming IMHO.

Have done it in December aswell as Typhoon depending on which is open, they are never as busy as the summer months which is great, the water is comfortable enough for us.

We were there last year around Dec 14 and we could have gone to BB anyday. We did hit it one day and it was perfect! ALSO went the first week in December in 2002 and went to BB - no problems for us - the weather was great!
