Birthdays and Anniversaries

Me and my mum and dad are heading back to Walt Disney World late September this year (after loving it when we went for our very first time in March 08).
We'll be staying at CBR as we did last time.

Now here's the thing, during the trip it will be both my 21st birthday, and my parent's 25th wedding anniversary.

Does anyone if WDW do anything special to celebrate these milestones? Or can recommend a good restaurant for a "big kid" on his birthday?
Or just generally things that are done for birthdays/wedding anniversaries?

Thanks. :)

You will be able to get in for free on your birthday! Just make sure you bring ID to show when you are entering the park. Also, for your birthday make sure you ask for the free birthday button. If you wear it around the park, little magical things could happen to you all day. It could be anything from lots of people congratulating you, to free ice cream, to who knows what!

For your parents anniversary, they can also get an anniversary button and hope for the same little magical perks! It's worth it to wear them. I wore the "Just Married" buttons on my honeymoon & lots of fun little things happened to us! Now that Disney's theme is "Celebrations", I'm betting even more attention is being put into the little details for those celebrating.

Let your resort & any restaurants you are going to know ahead of time what you will be celebrating. They always do their best to make your experiences full of surprises.

As far as restaurant recommendations go, I'm also a big kid so I love the character dinings. Some of the best ones to consider:
-Chef Mickey's at The Contemporary
-Crystal Palace at MK
-Ohana brunch at The Polynesian

Other great non-character dinings that I love:
-Ohana for dinner
-Kona Cafe at The Polynesian
-Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge

Have a wonderful trip!

For your birthday you will need to register it online before you go and make sure you take your ID & the confirmation they email you with you to pick up the free ticket.

As I understand it, being from the UK, I would have to show my passport on the day. I'm hoping I can get the gift card thing instead of free entry (as we'd already paid for our park tickets before realising about the Celebrate theme).

You've already been given good suggestions about buttons, making ADR's and checkin.

Some other restaurants to consider, especially for anniversary are Artist Point, Narcoossee's, Cinderella's Royal and a number of other upscale restaurants have some nice touches.

If you've never been and have a few extra dollars, a wonderful dinner experience at Victoria and Alberts will not soon be forgotten.

there are any number of gift packages, flowers etc. that can be delivered to the room.

If you have some specific plan, feel free to ask CM's if they can assist. A lot can be done within reason.

While we were there for our anniversary, we got the anniversary button. We ate dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table. They gave us a table for 2 by the window so we could watch the fireworks during dinner. The Fairy Godmother came over to us while they were making all of the announcements and sang to us. We then got an Anniversary cake and wine glasses, all complimentary. Neither of us said anything about it being our anniversary other than the buttons and when the Fairy Godmother asked how many years. Disney makes this special, that's for sure!

When you go to talk to the person that helps you with reservations (I'm not sure what they're called since my parents usually go do it!) at the resort, let them know you're celebrating your birthday and the anniversary. When I turned 16, my mom requested something special for one meal, but the planner told every restaurant we had reservations for. So every time we went out that visit, the restaurants did something special!

If you plan to eat at the Grand Floridian or CRT, it might be nice to request the Cinderella slipper dessert too
