Birthday trip!!

I am so excited! My boyfriend and I just had an absolutely amazing trip to Disney this past December :xmas: We both miss it so much that we decided to go for a short, 2 day trip for his birthday this weekend!

He is already signed up for the go free on your birthday plan. My question is, I've heard somewhere that when you go free on your birthday, you and your party (up to 6 people) also get fastpasses for the park you decide to go to. Is this true? If it is, it would be fantastic!

Does anybody know what the volume is expected to be like around this time of year? I know we are getting to peak season soon, but I'm hoping it won't be TOO bad, considering most schools, with the exception of colleges, will still be in session.

Also, it is possible to upgrade a free birthday ticket to a parkhopper right? Does anyone know how much this costs?

Thank you for the info! I'm so excited!! :sohappy:

Have some info for your questions.

Here's Q&A on the What will you Celebrate:

Here's what Touring Plans shows for crowd level, and they're not doing the Pirate and Princess Parties. My columns got messed up but this should help.

Just a note, This info is in the link already posted but just wanted to make sure one part is clear for you.

You can either get in the park (one park-non park hopper) for free OR you can get the Fastpasses, not both, so you'll have to decide which to do.

I'm taking my neice for her birthday so I have been researching this a bit, too.

Thank you for the clarification...

I think I'm actually going to run to AAA and upgrade his one day pass to a two day park-hopper and just go with the FastPasses...

Now the FastPasses are up to five people correct? And just for one park? They make this slightly confusing! But thanks for clearing that up.

From what I understand, the FPs are only for a few attractions. Not really worth it.

This is one of the lists I found of rides that you can use the Birthday Fastpasses for but I wouldn't re;y on this 100% because it changes a fair bit.

They are divided into "Donald" rides and "Daisy" rides and I believe you can pick 2 of each catagory to ride

  • Magic Kingdom
    • Donald: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan's Flight, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain
    • Daisy: Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, Jungle Cruise, Mickey's PhilharMagic, Stitch's Great Escape!
  • Epcot
    • Donald: Soarin', Test Track
    • Daisy: Honey, I Shrunk the Audience, Living with the Land, Maelstrom, Mission: SPACE
  • Disney's Hollywood Studios
    • Donald: Rock N Roller Coaster, Toy Story Midway Mania, Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
    • Daisy: Lights Motors Action Extreme Stunt Show, Star Tours, Voyage of The Little Mermaid
  • Animal Kingdom
    • Donald: Expedition Everest, Kilimanjaro Safaris
    • Daisy: Dinosaur, It's Tough to Be a Bug, Kali River Rapids
The other option is the Birthday Fun Card which is around a $75 value for adults. So that may be another option if you guys want to get a parkhopper pass anyway.

Wow okay, thanks for the input. I really appreciate it!

I thought for sure we'd get FastPasses to all of the rides, but I guess that is a bit too much to ask for :zipit: I'm still super excited anyway

Can the GC be used on food? Or just merchandise?

I was leaning toward the GC, but one of my best friends is only able to stay for one day. She hardly gets to go to Disney, as does my boyfriend's best friend. So I want them to be able to ride as much as possible.

Thanks again! I really appreciate all of the responses and information :sohappy:
