Birthday question

We would like to celebrate our daughter's 3rd birthday while at WDW in December( even though her true birthday isn't until just after our return). We had not intended on purchasing her a pass since she will only be 2 during our visit. If we wait to celebrte this on our last day, do you think we will have trouble without a pass for her? Will anyone ask why she doesn't have one?

Thanks

Can't give you a great all-encompassing answer. Sorry. What I would say is, since you're going BEFORE her birthday, try not to make it a big deal about it being a birthday trip. If your daughter doesn't go up to people and say "It's my BIRTHDAY" then really, who's going to know?

If you DO want to do something birthdayish, I'd say when you go to a restaurant, take your waiter aside and say "Her birthday is next week, and we're here in lieu of a birthday party. Any way we can do a little birthday treat for her?" I'd bet something could be arranged.

Ponder this itinerary:

Set up your vacation so that her birthday is on the last night you're staying at Disney World. If they're not checking her ID, just go to a park during the day and do NOT make a big deal about it being her birthday. BUT...that night, go over to Fort Wilderness. If you have the $$$, AND if tix are available, go to Hoop De Doo Musical Revue. If not, eat at the buffet, then go to the campfire singalong. Something like that is a little more intimate and family friendly, and I bet they'd do a Happy Birthday singalong. Plus, after the campfire (weather permitting) you'll be able to see the electric water pageant in the lagoon, and they have an outdoor Disney movie, too. I bet a kid would have a blast doing that on her borthday, and if I'm wrong, remember, I'm on a LOT of medication.

Take Proof

If you are concerned about getting charged for something you shouldn't, take a copy of her birth certificate with you in case you need to show when her real birthday is. Explain that this is her birthday gift (if explanation is needed). Kids usually cannot contain excitement of a birthday. We celebrated my neice's 3rd birthday for the month of March (2004) and her birthday is the 28th!

I hope this helps.

My nephew turned 3 on the last full day of our trip. I inquired at the front desk of the resort (Pop Century) and they arranged for balloons and a special autographed birthday card/photo from Buzz & Woody! He couldn't have been happier! Also this CM just said "happy birthday from us" so we didn't buy him a one day ticket. We were never questioned..even at meals etc.,

My son celebrated his 6th birthday every day of our last Disney trip. And his birthday was actually the week prior. All you need to do is go to the Guest Service area at each park each morning of your trip and tell the CM it is your child's birthday. They certainly won't ask to see your tickets. Anyway, they will give you a special pin that says "Today is my birthday" for the child to wear. Also, the child will amazingly get a phone call from Goofy while you stand there and he will sing happy birthday to the child. The rest of the day, the child will get special attention from the characters, maybe get to skip line at some rides, get a cupcake with a candle at each meal, etc.
Each park's pin is different. My son enjoyed collecting all of them. I have a few pictures of his cakes on my (unfinished) website: Pixy Dust Pages

As long as you do not put that your daughter is turning 3 on your hotel reservation, no one will know.

My suggestion to you is to tell the CM when you make your PS that it is her birthday so that they make note of it on all of your PS. This way she will get Happy Birthday wishes and a cupcake at each of the restaurants. I do suggest Chef Mickey's for breakfast on your first full day at the Resort.

They make a big deal out of birthdays there with the characters. They will giver her a special birthday pin along with a special placemat. Have her wear the pin during your entire trip. My daughter did this and she loved all of the special attention that the CM's gave her throughout the parks. We even had a couple of CM's dial up goofy and he gave her a special birthday wish.

You can even order a cake that you can have at one of your meals to celebrate her birthday. ( I have the phone numbers for Chef Mickey's and the Cape May Cafe )
My daughter also had a special treat of being the princess of the day at the Princess storybook breakfast. ( we had a seating for the first seating available on her birthday) You can also do a fireworks or illuminations cruise. There are also things like balloons, etc that you can order from the Disney Florist to have sent to the room for her.

Good luck and I hope you have a wonderful trip!

Don't worry about it

If you are on a Dream Maker Package it does not matter if the birthday is after you check in. The packages are booked according to the age of the child on the day they check in. So don't worry about it.

Have fun and use the tips that are listed above.
