Birthday Pins

What is your personal protocol when wearing a special day pin? If you get a pin for a special day, do you like to wear it during your whole trip or do you just pick one specific day to wear it? Do you even like to get the pins at all as an adult? My sister and I are booking a trip for my 40th birthday. We will be there the week after the actual day. I was considering picking up a pin and choosing one day to wear it.

Agree with everyone else. Wear that thing the entire time... you never know what surprises you may receive for doing so :)When my wife and I honeymooned there and wore our "just married buttons" and got free goodies at each park!

I agree - wear it the entire trip, if that's what you're there to celebrate! I wore my button most of the week of my b-day, and then on the actual day, I dressed up a little (wore a dress instead of my usual shorts & t-shirt) and my son gave me a special Princess Merida birthday ribbon to wear that day.

I wouldn't wear the pin even on my actual birthday. I am old enough that hearing, "Happy Birthday!" is not the thrill it was when I was six or sixteen. Plus, I don't like the idea of advertising that it is my birthday so strangers will say "Happy Birthday!" It would feel weird to me.

And I certainly wouldn't wear it on a day that wasn't my birthday. Even when I was younger, hearing "Happy Birthday!" On a day that wasn't my birthday would have been weird.

But I know many people like to be wished a Happy Birthday, even when it is not their day. And I'm all for everyone having all the fun they can grab!! Good for them! Good for Disney for giving them free buttons.

I have nothing against the buttons. I just wouldn't wear one.

We did a dual bday trip last summer for myself and DD6. We both wore ours every day with the exception of DD6's actual bday (mine was the week before). Since it was her actual bday- I took mine off for her to have a day of bday wishes all to herself and we had her do the same for my special bday meal at the end of the trip. DD3 will be celebrating her 4th bday next trip and I anticipate her wearing her button the entire time.

My kids wore their pins the whole trip because that was the reason we went--to celebrate their special days! We had them alternate wearing the pins at each restaurant to be fair. Wear your pin the whole trip and enjoy your special celebration! Happy Birthday!!

We've done a few birthday trips now. We don't even like wearing the pins ON our birthdays very much. We just prefer not to draw attention, even though we like the buttons themselves. We picked up "just engaged" buttons on our last visit, but never wore them.

The DH would only wear his on his birthday. (Which I kind of made him because it's Mickey & Minnie's birthday too.) I will be wearing mine the entire trip for my 40th.
