I know you can have one set up to be at a restaurant, but can you just pick it up or have it delivered to a room? Will be staying at Saratoga.

That link takes me to the U.K. page which doesn’t mention room deliveries.

However we ordered ours through Floral & Gifts pre-Covid, who did deliver to the room….albeit we called them to say we were in our room at 7pm and didn’t get it until after midnight. Not sure if they have resumed room deliveries yet though.

Sounds like something in your browser because for me it goes to the US page.

The other option is

Perhaps because I’m in the U.K.? 😉 Unlss we have a vpn we can no longer access the US site, so any link redirects to the equivalent U.K. page, which may or may not be up to date. 🙄

Sorry for the late reply...Disney isn't up to full availability for cakes right now, but there's still a lot of info over on LurkyLoo's page.

Per the header:

Due to COVID-19, only the Grand Floridian, Contemporary and Yacht & Beach Club resorts are offering custom cakes at the moment. The Grand Floridian may be able to deliver to other Disney resorts, parks and restaurants—call 407-824-2474 or email WDW.DL-GF.PD.Requests@disney.com to verify.

It's been a year, but I worked with the Grand Floridian in 2021 to have cakes delivered to BWV. They would not deliver to my room, but I was able to coordinate a time with the front desk to head down and pick up my cakes.

If you scroll down on this page, you'll get a rundown of potential flavor options.

Something else I saw that the GF changed recently...

"I will be more than happy to assist, we are able to deliver to AKL, however the cake order will have to be $100.00 or higher before taxes to qualify for delivery, & the cake will have to be paid in full the day we finalize the order, lastly, we will need to have this order in within 72 hours prior your event."

So, overall cake cost is now factoring into whether or not they will deliver to another resort.

Wonder how much cake $100 get you? We'd like to get my DS a cake (or whatever he wants...he might've mentioned cookies from Gideon's) for his bday on our July trip. We wouldn't need a big one, like the cake we ordered for his brother's 18th last month...I don't think we paid that much for our wedding cake!!😳

I've been digging around posts on another site to see what people are getting these days for their $...it's all over the place. I'm thinking for $100, you're looking at a fairly ornate 6"-8" buttercream cake or a very simple 6"-8" fondant covered cake. Most of the 6" buttercream ones I've seen of late are in the $75-85 range, while the fondant ones are in the $160-180 range. Granted, the fondant ones also seem to have more decorations than the buttercream, since it's a better medium for that kind of stuff. The GF, as usual, seems to be priced a bit above the Contemporary. I'd be inclined to do a meal at a Contemporary restaurant just to try and save a little on cake costs and not be bound by the $100 minimum for a delivered cake.

What's funny (and not in the ha-ha way), is that Disney is cheaper than most of our local bakeries for this kind of stuff. Cake costs are why I taught myself to do some of this stuff. I get it...it's a crazy amount of labor and certain ingredients and tools cost quite a bit, but I was quoted $7,500 for my dream wedding cake ($5,000 for a scaled back version). Too rich for my blood! I shelved all of it until I was quoted $650 on the 1st bday cake I wanted for my daughter. This was all early to mid 2000s, so I can only imagine what I'd be quoted for on those things today.

I haven’t been baking and sculpting as much lately, but these are some of my favorite Disney cakes that I’ve made. I have to admit that it was kind of nice having Disney make some of our cakes over the years. Takes off a lot of the pressure.

I think I might just get one of the regular dome cakes they have. My daughter likes vanilla over chocolate, but that one is white chocolate and vanilla. Anyone tried it, taste decent?

I made a cake for my moms birthday in the height of covid since everyone was isolating she wasnt expecting to see me or get anything for her birthday, i didnt want to go fancy. I wanted it to look like a handmade cake that someone would make in the 70s (like taking a barbie and making a cake around it) or putting toys on top of a childrens cake before we got all fancy and im a bit of a retro person, so i bought some jungle animals and legos and did jungle cruise. I also put m&ms in the middle. I then put it in a cake box and delivered it to them on their porch. :)
