Yeah that's what is being over looked here, you used to pay like $6 admission the WDW MK in the 70's but also had to buy a coupon book with the A,B,C,D, E tickets for attractions. I'm not sure the date it switched to a single ticket, but 1982 makes sense since that's when Epcot opened

That sounds correct, but was it different in DL because they didn't get EPCOT? I'm sure our resident experts will know.

That was going to be my question? When did the all inclusive pricing start? No matter what they are going to price to what the market will accept. Plus it makes the longer stays look like better bargains.

82 - hence the reason they picked the year. First year of no ticket books.

Well I'm only guessing here, but because Epcot's pavilions aren't the typical attractions (some are rides, some are shows, some have rides and shows inside them, some of the World Showcase don't have rides or shows, and others are "interactive") I don't think the coupon book system would have worked there. So I think it was just easier, and fairer, to have all the parks on both coasts conform to one system, instead of explaining to people that "Epcot has a flat rate but MK uses coupons", and you can't have flat rate for all the rides in Florida but charge people per ride, for the exact same rides, in California, because I pretty sure people would complain about that
