Being new to these forums, I presume that this is where an attraction question goes? If not, then my apologies.

With the Big Thunder Mountain rehab scheduled through November, does this mean the attraction will be closed (like I imagine it does)? Or is the work being done phased with rideability a consideration? I'm taking the kids down for the Halloween festivities and they are going to be disappointed as Big Thunder is one of their FAVORITE attractions!!!

Some rehabs like TOT will allow the attraction to be used, but BTMR will not be one of those.

It's a major rehab including track work, painting, electical systems work. It will be down and not be ridable.

Unfortuately Disney does their rehab work during the Slower months so generally if you visit anywhere from Sept-early dec your faced with early park closings and closed rides

im glad that im not going for the Halloween Event. that will be dissapointing for all of the people going there for that event.

Thanks to all for the confirmation. These things happen and, in the past couple times we have gone down during the October timeframe, any maintenance and upkeep was minor. There's a first time for everything... c'est la guerre.

There is a slim possibility I will still make it to WDW this year, and I was looking forward to riding BTMR. The last time I was there, I actually FORGOT TO RIDE IT. Don't ask me how that happened, I don't know... I was on my honeymoon, and my mind must have been in other places......

Oh well, I guess that will give me an excuse to go back again! Not that I need one...

Check the Parks & More FAQs on disneyworld.com. It states, and I quote, "Big Thunder Mountain will be closed for refurbishment August 25, 2003 - November 21, 2003". Very unfortunate considering I will be there in early November. But, that just gives me a reason to go back early next year.
