I voted expedition but it comes with a caveat- its gotta be the Yeti A mode because seeing him actually move was awesome.

Very tough choice for me. BTMR will always hold a really special place in my heart, as it was my favorite ride when I was a kid. If being honest though, EE is a superior ride, IMO.

Blink, blink. Breathe, breathe. Day in, day out.
Finally a good comparison.

Everest would win if it was in the state it was on opening day... However, with hair ties, a broken yeti, and dirty set pieces... Thunder wins by a landslide for me.

EE, for the taller climb, the view at the top, the backwards switch, the wild race to confront the Yeti (even as it is) and the better thrill.

BTMRR definitely wins it for me.

Everest just has too many moments (or lapses in maintenance/design) that ruin the immersion and theming. Chief among them are the litter and ponytail holders that seem ever-present at the top of the hill; the clear view (in the daytime) of the "guts" and interior framing of the mountain that you get during the backwards portion; the poor quality of the Yeti "tearing up the tracks" projection which always looks exactly like a cartoonish projection and never like a shadow of an actual animal; and the strobe lighting of the Yeti, which just looks silly. Don't get me wrong: it's still a thoroughly enjoyable attraction and certainly delivers bigger thrills, but for someone like me who loves to imagine for a moment that an attraction is really what it pretends to be, Everest requires a great deal more suspension of disbelief and forgiveness of shortcomings than BTMRR ever has.

Expedition Everest. I love the views, backwards-and-upwards motion, the waterfalls, and the nice big comfier ride vehicles. The queue is also an attraction in itself. Conversely, Big Thunder Mountain is one of my least favorite queues. I enjoy the ride and it is quintessential Magic Kingdom, but I would choose to ride EE over it any day.

BTM for me. Maybe in it’s first few months of operation EE was the best but I find EE very overrated today. The ride could use a serious overhaul to add some actual decent effects/gags on the ride like it's much older cousin on the west coast.

I didn't vote. I do like them both equally. I am more likely to ride Big Thunder every time I go to WDW,
buy that is because Everest scares me a little, though I have always enjoyed the thrill. The funny thing is
the only part that scares me is the first big climb. I feel like I am hanging out in midair.

I enjoy BTMRR, but EE is by far my favorite coaster anywhere - just extreme enough for me, no inversions, no corkscrews. Gotta ride it at least 3 times every trip!

If I could only ride one I would pick EE in a heartbeat. BTMR has never been one of my favorites. The themeing is decent but the ride is underwhelming. EE is more immersive while having an element of thrill.
