I think the success of this genre depends on the success of The Lone Ranger film coming out. If that turns out to be a huge hit, I think a well written show could easily piggyback on it. I think about Twilight () and how many vampire/werewolf spinoffs it has cast (most were crud but there has been one or two good ones)

Eh, Buffy the Vampire Slayer started the vampire teen romance trend; Twilight is just piggybacking off that.
