Big Problem

Here's the problem I have been waiting for my travel documents to arrive and they finally did today, that's the good news. We live in British Columbia and it has taken quite a bit of time for the documents to get through customs. The bad news is that my two friends and I are no longer staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge like all of our vouchers and the Disney Magical Express package states. We upgraded and are now staying at the Beach Club. I leave in two weeks from today, are there other fixed dicuments being sent to me. What am I supposed to do with this. Slightly freaking out over here. I have contacted my travel agents and I am waiting for their reply. Has this happened to any of you before? What did you do?

Well, since you did wait 7 minutes before bumping the thread up , I guess I'll try to answer it.
My thoughts would be to bring your upgrade documents with you, do not put the ME tags on your luggage, just pick them up and carry them to the bus yourself. It should save you any hassles.

Did your reservation number change when they moved you from the AKL to the Beach Club? I ask because everything regarding DME is tied to the reservation number and the barcode on the yellow tags and in the DME booklet.

As long as the Disney computer has the correct information, the barcode scanner will find it and your bags will end up at the correct resort.

This happens a lot, agents at the DME desk will even tell you to cross out the AKL and write in Beach Club, but that really doesn't matter.

Give your travel agent a little more time to answer you, but if they don't respond by tomorrow morning, call DME directly yourself just to verify the information - the phone number is in the DME booklet.

Thanks for the help :) I just got an email it states.
All you have to do is take a black marker and cross out the animal kingdom and write in Beach Club. You can even cross out the AK and put EP since you are now at and Epcot area resort. When you get to the Magical Express desk you can speak to the cast member there about the fact that you had a last minute resort change. Everything will be fine.

Better solution:

C[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]ontact Disney's Magical Express Guest Services at (866) 599-0951. They can issue replacement luggage tags and Fedex them direct to you within days.

Magic marker alterations sounds like advice from a Travel Agent that isn't a Disney specialist [I could be wrong].

Actually, the Magical Express desk tells agents and clients this all the time - and I am a Disney specialist agent - I hear this at least once per week.
There you go... I did say I could be wrong. [it's happened once or twice before ]

I used Kingdom Konsultants and both Pam and Elizabeth told be to do the marker thing. Elizabeth has been amazing and I can't thank her enough:)
