I am proud to say that all lift hill track is now complete and 75% of the track is now in place, with all track set to be complete within 4-6 weeks. With this in mind, the THEMING has begun, and it is visible to all guests! Stop by Space Mountain at night to see the brand new lighting scheme they will be using (it's really kewl--multi-colored!) and any snooping around will reveal that theming of the queue has begun! Construction is in high geer and everything is looking fantastic as the opening date of this new ride moves forward. Everything is looking good for July 17, 2005 :D Rocket Mountain at night rumors continue to fly...nothing confirmed on that, though.

Meanwhile, the new trains are complete and looking nice :)

I can't figure out how to get these pics up...the photoalbums are all screwed up...I loaded it up and while these links work for me, they don't work for other people..

You know how poeple were complaining about repainting Space Mountain by placing the paneling over it? Well it seems that is how WDW's Space Mountain works too. Part of the paneling was coming off the roof of Space Mountain last week.

I peronally never saw why people had to whine about it only being a paneling. Would they rather have the pukey old red and broze? I mean, at least it's white, that's what I caree about! :p

rather curious rumor that we will be seeing a LIM launched lift hill...comes from mouseplanet, which is generally reputable...

Yes, that rumor's been going strong for quite awhile now, although there's been no official confirmation.

If SM is to use a LIM lift hill, it wont be a launch but instead be a chainless lift like the second lift on Everest or the lift on Screamin'.
no...it's rumored to actually be a launch...not high speed, of course, but a little added acceleration to make it feel like you are blasting off. It'd be a nice touch, I think, and it would produce a little weightlessness at the top of the 3rd lifthill (weightlessness that even Mission: SPACE cannot produce).

you know how Disney is with the trim brakes...I'm sure they would slow you down to the right speed very shortly after so as to not make this new coaster crumble from the stress...

I wonder if it would be possible if they skipped the third lift and instead had an overbanked turn from the launch to the top of the third lift.

But I never been to Disneyland in the first place so I wouldn't know what their Space Mountain is like. I know at WDW's they have at least another 50 feet above the coaster which itself is over 90 feet tall.
