Big improvements by Disney!

This is what makes Disney special. I must admit, the front of the Monorail is a special place for the family that has never been there, but I would have never thought of doing what you do HM! I'm going to have to try that next time I'm in WDW.

I also try to assist people who are looking perplexed, and always keep my ears open for someone asking a family member "how do we find...." and jump right in with directions.

You are absolutely right about the distance some folks go to get to the Magic Kingdom, so every little bit makes them that much happier.

I'm VERY happy to see that the "Red Carpet Recovery" from the CMs is not just limited to stuff they have been suggested to do! (drinks, ice cream etc)

WAY TO GO to any CM that goes THAT FAR above and beyond! :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

As we were getting on the train to conversatin station, the conductor said to our son "Hey, do you want to blow the whistle."

Ryan, who is very shy around strangers and would never think to ask to do something like this, nodded. The conductor said "Hang around when everyone else gets off."

:)

I had to go over to Guest Services at Epcot to renew my Annual Pass. As I was doing this, I was talking with the CM and they had asked me if I had gone on Test Track yet today. I told them that I had not since it was down because of a rain storm. The CM told me no problem and gave me a stack (57 to be exact) Fast Passes for Test Track, good at any time.

I'm still not through using them all!!! :sohappy:

My friend and I were visiting WDW back in May of this year. One night we decided to go over to Epcot to watch Illuminations. We were taking the Monorail over and were sitting up front with the driver (as we always tried to do). As we were approaching Spaceship Earth she commented on how pretty it was lit up at night. So of course we got our cameras out and were trying to take pictures. I very quietly made the comment to her that it was hard to get a good picture while we were moving.

Well the driver completely stopped the Monorail for us to take a couple of pictures!! I know he did it special for us because he made no comment to the other passengers on the intercom about a "station delay". AND, he asked us if we had gotten a good picture before he started moving again.

How is that for making you feel special?!?!

I just thought it was amazing and extremely gracious he stopped a full Monorail for two people to take a picture.

That's why Disney is the best!!

4 weeks to go for us!!! Oct 17-21.

There have been so many depressing threads slamming Disney for all kinds of things. I've made it a personal mission to avoid all that stuff.

This is what Disney is all about.
Keep the happy stories coming!!!

even disney can't make everyone happy. I never have had a problem when I go. and this last time it seemed that the quality was far better then the 25th anniversary year we went.

We stayed at the Coronado Springs Resort on its opening year, and got to know the very friendly CMs at the foodcourt. We returned to the resort the next year, and on our first visit to the food court, we saw one of the CMs from the previous year. He remembered us, and said once we had finished to go see him. So once we had finished we went over to him, and he took our bill for the meals and said "this one is on us, welcome back to the Coronado Springs!". :)

All my "nice CM" stoires involve those wonderfull people at Disney Transportation....especially the bus drivers. I cant begin to tell you how many times i have gotten a ride on an empty bus because the busdriver decided to go out of his way to accomidate me..especially when they used to have EE....

My family and I noticed much better service (back in Jan. '02). I'm happy that this is a continuing trend. Disney latest announcements of the Extra Magic Hour and expanded entertainment offerings show that when guests comment (complain) or make suggestions, Disney eventually listens. Lower attendance has obvoiusly made Team Disney realize that they need to "compete for the buck" just like everyone else.

While staying at the All Star Resorts, we had PS reservations at Chef Mickeys at like 6 or 7 am. We got on the very first bus that hit the Resort marked for "Magic Kingdom" and the bus driver said "Going to a character breakfast." We told him yes, and he asked us where. We told him the contemporary, and he drove us to their bus drop off rather than the Magic Kingdom drop off. Granted, it would have only been a 5 minute walk anyways, but the sentiment was there, and he probably would have taken us anywhere.

this is such a great thread! slowly but surely, i think my faith in Disney is coming back to me....last night i read on the the main page how Disney is wanting to update some of the classics in MK, which made me beyond happy since i've been saying the classics need some cosmetic updates for some time now! i just pray that they don't decide to paint space mountain neon orange and green or something like that! i hope they just make things look like they did 30 years ago!
and now, these great stories! i certainly hope Disney keeps this up!
