Big Differences Between All Star Resorts?

Besides the obvious theming elements, are there any major differences between the All Star Resorts that would make a person choose one over another?

I've stayed at Music and Movies, and like most people, Movies is my favorite. Music is fine, but Movies is just so *DISNEY*! Movies, being the newest, is a bit "fresher" feeling. I can't comment on Sports personally, but I can tell you that the last time we were at Movies, this past February, we met a lady who was staying at Sports. We were all at the Movies playground, and she had come to the Movies playground with her son because she said it was much nicer and not as run-down as at Sports.

But still, to me, the biggest difference is that Movies is truly larger-than-life, and makes you smile at every turn and everything your eye falls upon. :)

I wouldn't call Sports or Music "run down". They are all kept very nice and are all larger than life. I however do like Movies the most--I just love 50 foot dalmations, Buzz, Woody, and the Fantasia area is phenomenal.

I still like Music the best.

But I have never stayed at the Sports. And maybe my opinion is colored by the bad experience I had at Movies the first year it opened. The CM at the check-in desk was extremely rude. AND that is the first (not last) time I had to wait until 4:00 to get into my room. All the previous times at Music I was allowed into my room at noon.

Most teams competing at Wide World of Sports stay at the sports resort. It is often the loudest of the three. I would avoid staying at sports when there are a lot of tournaments scheduled for the sports complex. Just check the schedule.

Movies often gets the most families. Music a little bit of everything.

I think the food is better at Music than at Sports. I haven't eaten at Movies.

Woody has a fence around him!

The family and I stayed at Movies after it first opened. I took lots of pictures of all the icons including Woody. I noticed last December that a fence has been errected around Woody to keep people from climbing on him. Now you can't get a decent picture of Woody without that damn purple fence. I understand why Disney had to fence Woody in but I just wish people were more responsible.:(

Hey...

I stayed at all 3 all-stars. Music and Movies twice. Sports is really cool, especially if the people your travelling with really like a certain sport building. Personally, it's not my thing. Music is cool, but if you get a room in Broadway, it's a bit far. Movies is probably the best because its newer. The bus area has the right spaces for each place, and everything is a bit more updated since sports and music opened. Sometimes Movies is sold out, so taking a room in music or sports is still worth it. Overall the all-stars are great. I always go back there, this time im debating trying a moderate hotel, but there's something about the all-stars convienience that always makes me return there. Well see what happens when I go back to WDW this time around.

I too have stayed at all 3 All Stars. Personally, I liked Music the best. Movies I liked least. I just really loved the layout of Music. the other two seemed kinda jumbled up. *sigh* i wish i could stay at Music again. ever since my family joined the DVC, we haven't been able to stay at one of the value resorts...i miss it. i know, it's probably sounds weird to hear someone complain about staying at resorts such as Boardwalk and Wilderness Lodge. which i'm not. i love them both, and i'll never forget staying there! they were both very lovely! but to me, it's just not the same ol' Disney without the noisy somewhat crowded food courts! i loved them!
anyway, back to your question...they're all pretty much alike, except, of course, for the themeing, and the layout. personally, like i said, i like Music the best for both themeing and layout! both are just superb! and i like the food court better too!

There is a difference! Movies resort plays Disney music while Music resort played all kinds of non-disney music. :( In addition, the themeing does really make your experience feel like a complete immersion into the World of Disney! Movies also has the largest and best food court of all three. The final deciding factor is that Movies usually has its own direct buses because of its popularity while Sports and Music seem to share buses a lot.

this is a little off the Disney topic, but....wow! you're kidding! the spray, tug, and go stuff REALLY works?! i'm impressed! i usually don't believe that type of stuff when i see it on tv...i always kinda pass it off as a sales gimmick! hmm, i'll have to inform my mom of this stuff!
