There are many times when people have attempted to stay hidden in the parks after close. The biggest story I can remember is when two not so bright high school students decided to hide on Tom Sawyers island after hours. The only way to get across to land was to swim. They both drowned.
Today there are cameras all over the parks. It would prove very difficult to the extreme to get away with such a feat. Besides, why would you want to?

They must have been pretty short as the river around Tom Sawyer is only about 5-6 feet deep. - I think this might be park of Disney folklore

Forklore? Where have you've been man? Deaths do happen when stupid people tend to go to the parks >_>;; These are all true and are back in the day. Plus people have been known to drown in 6 feet of water.

posted by Lee (corrected)... In both cases, the families of the deceased sued Disneyland for wrongful death....both lost.
:brick: Why even sue when it was the kiddos fault?

I was allowed to stay on the Wedway and Horizons. When we were at a concference and my sister and I were the onlt to people to go on Rockin' Rollercoaster, we got off at the exit and went through a secret passage to get right back on. We went 14 times in a row with no wait.

I am a lifeguard and I have had to save two people (teenagers) in water that was 5 feet or less. Yes, they could have just stood up, but because they couldn't really swim, they panicked. That's why everyone should take swim lessons.

As far as where I have been, there have been many stories to come down the pike regarding deaths occurring on Disney poperty, some true, some not.

Did these deaths occur in WDW or DL? - that is one thing snopes fails to mention

All of them were at DL and so far, I've only heard of one in WDW when a man died while riding splash Mountain. If this one is true or not, I have no idea. Oh and yeah, I thought it was you who posted that, but I already corrected that. =)

Ah, I just comfirmed that a man did die while riding splash mountain back in the day of 2000. Here's the link if anyone wants to check it out. As for deaths, I WDW has only had some compared to the 13 or 14 Disneyland has.

Because when your son or daughter has just died at a place you thought they would be safe, it's very difficult to think clearly and logically about the incident like you can when you're just sitting at a computer and reading about it.

To the parents at that moment in time, the misbehavior of their late child was definitely the last thing on their mind, I'd think.
