I back off from posting here much for this very reason :). I get too confused about what I know from the feeds and/or I'm afraid I'll do the spoiler tag wrong!

BB has to shake this up somehow. It's boring when "the house" picks a target and they all vote together. There's no drama, no surprises, and a week like this one is an example of how boring/disappointing that can be. We saw a lot of that last year. I was hoping this year's cast wouldn't have that pack mentality but so far, they do--and it's tedious. I'm addicted to BB and I won't stop watching but man, this show could be so much better.
Completely agree. Personally, I think this is the last week of BotB, because it has gotten rediculous. The same four people are going up very week.

Oh, and btw Victoria, don't get ahead of yourself-- you DID NOT win veto. You wee the victim of a dum-bo

Just finished Thursday's episode. I hadn't looked at this thread until now after finishing Thursday's episode and before I go online to see the nominations. I want to make some predictions but before I do, let me say I agree with all the previous posts concerning this week.
Now we know who the 2 HoHs are and it just shows that it doesn't matter if BB tries to change up the game with 2 HoHs, BoB, and Team America. The Detonators circumvented that game setup with a strong alliance.
Does it make it boring for us? I think so since we have to watch the same people go up. I was hoping Caleb would win HoH then get this crazy thought in his head that he could have Amber if only Cody was gone, then nominate Cody.
I want a shake up.
The Detonators are running out of nonalliance people so lets guess its Jocasta and Victoria for sure. But do they nominate Donny? Probably. That leaves Amber and Caleb. So this might be A and C's notice the Bomb Squad is dead.
I think this is the perfect week to backdoor Caleb. Do you think Hayden and Nicole will start to feel itchy and notice they need to think about making a move or become a Detonator casualty?
In the next couple of weeks we will see the Detonators cannibalize their alliance. Then it will be interesting.

Yep. To all points.

Why did Donny god-bless Cody? I thought he was angry. Donny is nice. Also, he said that he wants to get to the bottom of...something. That is probably the worst thing he can do; don't stir the pot, just be a pawn and let Brittany leave.
I think that Donny 'gets it'. He's savvy enough to know that there are alliances that he isn't in and that people are lying to him and smart enough to not make a big deal about it so he doesn't paint a bigger target on himself.

I completely agree. Something needs to be done to liven up these people. Production is trying to do through tasks assigned to 'America's players'. Production failed last week because they poorly defined the task, allowing the players to weasel out. This next week's will hopefully be better in having them get others into arguments.

They should task them with throwing hinky votes.

I agree that Donny get it. He has for awhile. But do you think he can do anything about it with how he is playing?
I don't think so, simply because there isn't a clue brick big enough to knock some sense into most of these houseguests. Practically since day one, this alliance has been outing itself, but everyone else has been completely unable to rally themselves to do anything about it.

The only hope that these sheep have is that the alliance will continue to implode and kick itself out.

The one thing he can still do is win HoH and nominate Jocasta and Victoria thereby ensuring he stays HoH then try to backdoor a powerful player. This is smart but very risky and even if he did get a powerful player up on the block he wouldn't have the clout to get be people to vote that powerful player out.
What you said about the houseguests being sheep and not rallying is one of the most true and frustrating things I find about social groups in on these reality games. Here and Survivor.
I guess Joey's offer is or should be something the girls regret not grabbing at. The boys got together quickly with the Bomb Squad and morphed into the Detonators when the unstable players became known (Amber, Caleb, and Devin.)
The girls could have done this too. Donny could have joined the girls and that would be where he would have thrived.

Hinky votes?

YES, PLEASE!

With very few exceptions, year after year, the girls are dummies.
I don't know what it is that stops us women from working together as a cohesive unit?

The guys sure know how to band together pronto.

My wife's theory is that a group of women will never get along and that if you put that group around eligible, attractive men, it makes the infighting worse.

My theory is more nuanced. I believe that it has to do with the types of people that production chooses to be in the house. They tend to choose attractive people that fall into their predefined categories (old, young, white, black, gay, repressed, BB super fans, never seen the show) and also choose some to ramp up the drama. I believe that by doing this, a side effect is you get men that are somewhat used to working together and women that are somewhat used to competing against one another. Sure, they also end up with outlyers like Devin who always has spelled 'team' with a capital 'I'. These people bring the drama but aren't likely to steamroll the house well enough to make it to the end.

This is why I liked the season of Survivor where Parvati won. She rallied the girls and they stuck other and she won. Another girl after (can't remember her name but she owned a weeding dress shop) was a strong leader too.

To answer your question about why girls can't work together as a unit I think girls compete with each other. Maybe the way a girl is raised and sees her mother defer to the father? I don't know but I think it's a worthy discussion that is valid not just on reality game shows. Why girls don't carve out success for themselves?

Now guys banding together? I think we see the majority of guys in the Detonators having a similar philosophy. That is why they are loyal. When Cody wanted to put Caleb up because Cody thought his brother back home would be disappointed in him showed he follows some kind of brotherhood rules. This is the reason he listened to Derrick. Donny doesn't have that brotherhood mentality and maybe this is the reason he wasn't invited in. So it's not a general guy thing.
The big question to me is: why does Christine always run back and tell the Detonators everything she hears and why doesn't she make a move with Nicole and Hayden? Surely she watched Brittany's season with the Bragade. I think it's a trust issue. She can't trust that Nicole and Hayden won't go back and rat her out to the Detonators.

I liked Brittany, but didn't want her to stay if it meant voting Donny out. That being said, when she and others started to talk about how she should stay because she 'deserved' it, I really wanted her to be voted out.

There are many ways to play BB. Whether a person's method is a good one or a bad one is determined by how long they stay in the house and whether they are awarded the money at the end. No one 'deserves' to be there solely based on how well they do in comps or whether they are outspoken.

Your wife is right in most situations but once in awhile you get a girl who can rally the girls together and lead them to HER victory. Parvati from Survivor.

I agree with you on production casting generic types. It's boring. They need to stop wasting time with tickering with the game set up and cast smarter, independent, charming types so the viewers are entertained with some good gameplay. Get rid of the Victorias who can't even seem to figure out which direction to get off the HoH comp stage.

Yea totally agree with the deserving thing. BTW, you know I meant Brittan (in the above post) from a past season?
IMO, I think the two successful ways to play BB are: a very social game and win when you need to, and be a very strong competitor and be in a strong alliance thats see your winning as protecting them and blinds them to you being a threat. Frankie and Derrick fits those descriptions. Derrick should start laying the path to get Frankie out because if it comes down to them, the jury will vote Frankie BB winner.

I love me some Zach. :inlove:
Really hoping he makes a big move like he wants and isn't tied down by Frankie and Derrick to nominate the same people as every week. Really like those 2s game, but it does make it boring.

I don't want spoilers, but can someone at least say whether or not the live feeds have been great as well as noms this week so far?
