HEY @real mad hatter, ich bin deutsch, und ich liebe das Essen.
so leave my German cuisine alone !

for disneyshib,
I must admit, for real German Food, Biergarten is not all that great. even their spaetzle is not real authentic, and they have no sauerbraten. no German buffet should be without sauerbraten. they used to have it. but their wurst are decent, and some of their cold salads are very good.
their biers are VERY GOOD !
make sure you get the large stein- it's enough for four, but you'll eventually finish it yourself.

it is a pleasant meal, and if you're not German you probably won't notice. and the band is very entertaining, don't hold back, go ahead and sing bier drinking songs with them, by the end of the stein, you'll be ready!
so enjoy, it is worth the trip

I am German as well and had my first meal at Biergarten recently. I do think that it is a very good representation of the food that would be served in a standard German restaurant here in Germany. With the exception of it being a buffet which is not a very common concept here.

I had the Spätzle and thought they were fine, even better what I get often served here in Northern Bavaria (which is not the home of the Spätzle). I tried all of the sausages and the Leberkäse (Bavarian Meatloaf) and they all tasted like they do here at home. The only dish that I did not like was the pork schnitzel which was too dry, but that might have been a side effect of being served as a buffet.

The desserts are very good and authentic, too. They have Rote Grütze, a red fruit jelly (you can add vanilla sauce) and apple strudle and Käsesahnetorte (cheese and cream cake).

And for dinner they have Sauerbraten on the menu - as well as Rouladen. Those two dishes are the main difference between lunch and dinner.

So all in all I went in very sceptical and was very pleasantly surprised how much I liked it!

I liken this to the SciFi Dine in at DHS..the atmosphere is top notch the food is OK not great..but not bad..but of course alcohol cures some of that...lol. I dont recommend many buffets..they just are'nt my thing but Biergarten is worth the experience.

The food is good at Biergarten, it's a buffet so try what you want if you don't like it don't eat it. I am not a fan of some of the cold salads they have but I'm not a big beet, cucumber, cabbage eater. Enjoy! BTW by your profile we live close to each other I'm a few towns over.

Hello Neighbor! Thanks for the thoughts on Biergarten. Where are you in MA?

Thanks so much! Singing and BEER together. My two favorite things. This is sounding like a winner.

THIS -

I'm not German, but we have an authentic restaurant very close to our house and the food at the Biergarten didn't compare.

HOWEVER - It was not bad by ANY stretch of the imagination and the atmosphere was awesome!
We went with a large group and I think that's part of the fun when hitting up a place like this.
That and the BEER (of course)!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ENJOY!

Morning Everyone...
I've had my fair share of beers around the World Pavillion in Epcot including Oktoberfest (don't spite me on the spelling). However, in a few weeks a few friends and I are making an adults only trip down to DW for a couple nights. We made reservations at Biergarten instead of San Angel Inn where we normally go mainly for the large steins of "bier". This will be my first time eating in Germany. What are your opinions on the food and what should we definitely try and stay away from at the buffet?

Thanks!

Been there for dinner food was ok although alot of it was sour and after awhile of eating it all tasted the same. had un upset stomach later on. Didn't really like that we had to share a table with other guest would of prefered single tables. But, not my cup of tea... It is always good to be adventures try new places I am sure you will enjoy it!!
