Bibbity Bobbity Boutique Questions

We will be taking our daughter (who will be 3.5 at the time) to WDW in November and I have some questions about Bibbity Bobbity:

1. How long does it typically take from the start of your reservation to when you leave? Just trying to get a general sense of how much time to allocate before a lunch reservation. Ideally, if I can somehow get all the reservations, I would like to do Chef Mickey's for breakfast, then walk to MK for Bibbity Bobbity, and then have lunch at CRT.

2. At the risk of being made fun of (or worse) on the forums ... is a new make-up kit and new disposable brush used with each child? I recently saw an expose about how make-up brushes at department stores are loaded with germs from being used on multiple customers. And even before seeing that, I always thought the practice of sharing make-up was unsanitary.

3. Views on bringing a dress from home vs purchasing the package with the dress? My wife thinks the dress package is a waste of money when we can just buy one at home and bring it whereas I would like to see the look on her face as she chooses a dress.

Hi! We did BBB with my daughter in Sept 2016, she was 5 at the time. We LOVED it, it was definitely a highlight of our trip. To answer your questions, the appointment takes about an hour start to finish. This includes checking in, changing into the dress if necessary, getting hair, makeup & nails done, and a quick photoshoot (and yes, you can also use your own camera if you don't purchase photopass :) )

Every child gets their own personal, brand new make up kit and brushes. Not a silly question at all! To go along with question 3, we brought our own dress from home because we already had TONS and we just did the hair/makeup/nails package for 60 bucks. It was such a great deal. My daughter got this cute canvas bag to take home, along with the tiara and mickey clip they put in her hair, plus the make up kit used on her, plus the nail polish used on her (again brand new, every kid gets their own) plus a sticker sheet of face gems (which she did not want on her face that day) plus the sash she was wearing. Again for 60 bucks, it was a GREAT deal.

As far as buying a dress there, that's totally up to you and your budget. When we checked in, we told them we had our own dress, they offered to up sell us some items like a wand, fancy tiara, gloves etc. We said we were all set and they very sweetly said no problem and no one asked again. The CMs there are amazing- friendly, sweet, and so good with kids. We were at the Disney Springs location but I'm sure the MK location is the same.
My youngest was just a baby on that trip and we can't wait to do this again with both girls on our next trip when she's older. Have fun!!!!

I left out #2, because I couldn't answer that. For #1, when we went in October, it took us an hour and a half-that included afterwards when we went next door for pictures. I suppose we could have skipped that, but those pictures are priceless.

We had an afternoon appointment (only time we could get, even at 180 days out), and next time I'd really consider buying the dress there. It was a pain to lug it around all day, and when I got there, there were dresses there, and in nearby stores, that really weren't much more expensive.

They tell you when you make your appointment to bring your own hair brush with you, and yes they do get their own makeup kit for the makeover, as well as being able to take it home with them.

Keep in mind depending on how hot it is when you go, some of those dresses are scratchy and hot to walk around in. The downside of bringing a dress from home is your daughter changing her mind when she sees a different princess she wants to be and insists she wants something else :) But if she has a definite fave princess, bring from home. Chances are you may be carrying the dress around anyway later - and she's back in her "street clothes" with a beautiful glittery hair do!

BTW, your timing for breakfast and lunch may be a lot in a short amount of time. Chef Mickey can take a while to get through, even with an ADR, sometimes it takes a while to get seated, then you want to make sure you get to see and interact with all the characters. It's a 10 minute walk over to MK, then allow time to get into the park and get to the castle for your appointment. I'd suggest a late lunch at CRT, or early dinner so you're not cramming everything into the first half of the day. And you have time to digest your breakfast from Chef Mickey :)
