Bibbidi Bobbidi dilemma/question

Hi everyone! We are currently planning our first trip to WDW with our three kids (ages will be 6, 3, and 2- girl, boy, girl). We really want to have our 6 year old experience the BBB followed by a breakfast/lunch at CRT if we manage to score these reservations. My dilemma is what will my other two kids and husband do while we are at the BBB? I'm worried that this whole experience will take away from magic kingdom park time. We are only there for 5 days with 3 in parks bc of travel days... So we were only going to do one day at MK. Is it worth it to do this, or are we better off skipping this and touring the park as a family?

Sorry, I'm totally new at this WDW planning and I want to make this a special trip for all. I'm not sure when we will get back to WDW and I don't want my 6 year old to lose that magical love for the princesses and all by the time we go again.

Thanks in advance for any advice! :)

For the price of BBB, you could probably add another day and still save money. For the price of CRT, you could probably add yet another day and still save money. Three park days is extremely short for a first trip, especially with kids that are an age that might require naps and/or early bedtime.

One good compromise would be to do a homemade BBB in your hotel room. Buy the dress and accessories beforehand and do a mom-and-daughter makeover session one morning before the park.

I agree with the above posted since both of these activities are not cheap. However, I'm sure your daughter would love to do the BBB and would have an awesome time. If you wanted to do it with her, your husband and other children could go do a ride that you and your daughter may not have any interest in doing, or have your son go get his face painted like a pirate (boy version of BBB).

Considering it's your first trip and you're only there for a few days...... I would skip BBB and just do an in hotel dressup session instead. This is based totally on my own experience with my own daughters. They love being in the parks dressed as princesses and although my oldest did enjoy her visit to BBB on our last trip, both girls would just assume that I do their hair and (minimal) makeup for them in the room. We bring costumes and accessories with us or buy new ones in the many shops that sell them throughout the resort. This way there's no disruption to family time and you aren't rushing to get to a certain place at a certain time. I have unfortunately witnessed so many frazzled mothers and teary eyed "princesses" at Disney over the years, trying to stay on schedule in MK, or worse yet trying to get from the DTD location back to MK for a scheduled meal or character meeting. It's sad. As I said, my 6 year old did enjoy a visit to BBB on our trip last month but this was her 5th Disney vacation and we just did it as something new to try. (My 3 year old was not interested as she dislikes having her hair touched by anyone but me or her grandma). I really feel like on a first trip with only a few days to visit (just one in MK) and with other children to accommodate, BBB might not be the best use of your time.

I agree with all the above comments. I would wait and save BBB for future trips and get all dolled up in the hotel room, i had never thought of that idea before :) i hope you have a wonderful time in the world!

We've stopped by the Harmony Barber Shop and had glitter sprinkled in my daughter's hair. I think it was like $5. Maybe you could stop in on your way and do this. Also, last trip at the princess shop by the castle there was a cast member sprinkling the little girls with pixie dust for free. My daughter loved it!

^^^^^ This!!!!!!!!!!! I'd add the extra day as you really need 2 for the MK your first time

I agree it might not be worth the time. We did this when my daughter was 5 and she enjoyed it, but I was not so impressed with our Fairy Godmother in Training. The one next to us was great, engaging and entertaining. Ours was not. It might not be worth the risk of not having a great experience with that short of a time at MK. I would plan on 1.5 - 2 hours for the appointment and you could see a lot of other attractions in that time.

If you still really want to go to BBB, options would be to try to get the earliest possible appointment and then you could meet up with the rest of your family for the day or try to get an appointment at the Downtown Disney location on the day you arrive (if time allows). Her hair will stay in place (even after a night's sleep) and they give you the make-up so you could touch it up in the morning before you leave for the park.

This really is the perfect age for your daughter to meet the princesses! You would save time at CRT in getting pictures with several of the princesses however they do not spend much time at your table. If you go to a meet and greet, they will spend more time interacting with your daughter which, in my opinion, makes for a more magical experience.

Whatever you decide, you really can't go wrong!

Thanks so much for the advice everyone! We were already looking into adding an extra day to our trip. I think we are def. going to do that now. This will give us two days at MK, which seems to be recommended given the age of our kids. If we do end up doing BBB I was going to do the cheapest package and bring a costume from home. I've read that a lot of people do that to keep the cost down. I'm not going to get hung up on CRT following it. We will prob just head out to start touring the park after.

Thanks again!

You won't regret adding the extra day! When are you going?

We just added the extra day! We are staying from 5/17-5/22 at the Beach Club.
Yay! That sounds great! We're planning our first visit to Beach Club for late February. I'm looking at the deluxe size rooms to give us more space since the kids are too little for their own room if they don't connect (6 and 3). Disney doesn't guarantee the connector rooms and on our last trip (at Boardwalk Inn) we reserved two rooms but they were no where near each other so we ended up all in one regular room. The rooms are not large.

EDIT: I'm really excited for you because it's your first trip. We've been there often but I still get excited when we drive under the archway and enter the property.

Just go into Castle Couture and ask for Pixie Dust. There is a cast member always available to do it for free. My daughter stops in there almost every time we visit.
